GReb Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Received a Kistler KLX 6’9” Rip and Crank yesterday. Ive been throwing shallow cranks on a terrible $30 Browning glass rod for the last 8 years. Seriously probably the worst rod I’ve ever owned. It was due for an upgrade. I’m also going to use the rod for chatterbaits, topwater, spinners, swim jigs, etc 3 Quote
kenmitch Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 I took advantage of the recent BPS sale. I needed a bright colored anglers jacket for those colder days on the kayak. The traps were on sale for $4.97 so they made good fillers to get the free shipping. Everyday low price at Walmart on the traps but BPS had a monster selection of colors too choose from. Freebie from the baitmonkey today! I found it today floating at the lake. It still had some line attached to it so I cut it off. As I typed this out I came to the conclusion that I should have pulled in the line as there possibly could have been a rod and reel on the other end. Dang nammit! Lucky Craft LC 1.5 spin. It just needs a quick cleaning as it's in really great shape. I thought it was some cheap lure when I 1st found it. 1st time I've ever even seen one. Didn't know it was actually a decent find till I googled it. 5 Quote

Flatrock Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 I fell victim to the monkey as well yesterday while exploring my local BPS... Purchased a boat and motor cover.. a new 8' catfish rod reel combo, half dozen various rattle traps. I've been holding out cause there is a boat and fishing show this weekend. 1 Quote
Dangerfield Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 The last of my finesse order came in, and I was taken back at how tiny the Nedz Lockz are. I've been using the power finesse zman shroomz with success, and the gents over at Tacital Bassin keep praising the better keeper and stouter hook. So I bought three packs, and a set of micro Jigs. I've got 3" pit bosses, zipper grubs and a variety of worms and of course the TRDs. Any trailer recommendations? Mini Creature styles? I think the Rage Menace Grub will definitely be an interesting option, same with the keitech spider. Obligatory pic. 1 Quote

Very surprising how much variance there is from store to store as to what they don't have. Did you go to the one by the Legends or something? Quote

Legends has limited fishing supplies. Bonner Springs and Shawnee Mission are usually better, but they did not have many sales going on. Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted February 1, 2019 Super User Posted February 1, 2019 In preparation for open & cooler water, I added a few lake specific pattern Shad Raps. Trebles & spilt rings will be upgraded before these get wet though. A-Jay 10 Quote

The patterns are two of the Bass forage on my waters, Golden Shiners and Perch. Also replacing the split rings and trebles. 2 Quote

After nearly 3 decades of search & rescue, if yours is not an inflatable, I'd like to recommend you consider a 'brighter' colored life jacket. It will dramatically improve your chances of being located alive. Because other than that PDF - the top of your head is all we can see; and it's a relatively tiny target. A-Jay 1 Quote

A-Jay I always get mine in more natural colors to match the background for when I do wear it while fishing. Never thought about what color it needs to be if I ended up in the water. I use a standard PFD. I don't trust inflatables to work. Quote
