Derek1 Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 I think they were made for chatterbaits so maybe they need the thump for the action. They seem to have plenty of action on them. 1 Quote

MichaelCopeland Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 I've been wanting to get me a higher end rod in the $100 range. Well today I scored big time! It's not necessarily the rod I wanted in that price range, but I couldn't pass up this steal of a deal. I bought a 7' Daiwa Tatula XT MF baitcasting rod originally $99.99 our price at Academy. It went clearance priced Wednesday for $24.98. They let me hold it til payday today and with my discount I got it for $21.79 tax and all. I'm sooooo happy! Can't wait to try it out. It feels like most MHF rods I've used on the lower end. It's gonna be the perfect rod for crankbaits, topwater treble hook baits and my favorite chatterbaits. For now I've put my Lew's Laser TXS Speed Spool 7.1:1 reel on it. However I have plans to eventually get the Lew's SSG1SH 7.5:1 reel for it. It's $99.99 and hoping we have a good sale on them again soon. ? 10 Quote

Super User JustJames Posted October 20, 2018 Super User Posted October 20, 2018 @Burke @BurrowsIt would cost about 140 ordered from Asia. I decided not to since the reel seem to rebadged Fuego CT plus Twing. I had Tatula CT type R before but sold it. Most of Daiwa reel I ordered base on look and color scheme but sold it afterward. I don't collect reel, all the reel I've had need to have some purposes for fishing, otherwise it got sold after awhile. Another view of old fav purple color. 1 Quote

I've missed out on some really sweet deals because they happened when it was between paydays or I had more important things I needed to take care of. This time it didn't happen that way. ? Quote

I guess the oil had leaked out making the bag greasy so they decided to dump them for nothing. There were 2 bags I grabbed them all. Sadly someone had opened up the third bag and bought 2 packs I'm guessing for full price. $1 a pack for anything Yamamoto is a deal to good to be true IMO. Grabbed a bunch of $2 SK Bitsy Bug jigs too. Spent $20 for 4 jigs and 84 hogs. I may see if anyone wants to trade something for a pack or two of them in the flea market. It's funny Walmart deals are like my own personal MTB. Bro you aren't kidding. I've gotten almost every Yamamoto hard bait for 2 bucks from Walmart, about 70 bags of dingers for 75 cents a bag, 20 bags of rage bugs and craws for one dollar a bag, kvd plastics for a buck, red eyed shads for a buck. It's insane... 1 Quote

In other words you needed something to fit your bfs needs which is understandable. Is that scorpion 70 you have bfs? 1 Quote

Super User JustJames Posted October 21, 2018 Super User Posted October 21, 2018 @ItsHardwickbait monkey is calling you ?. @Burrowsno it's just scorpion 70 and I'm in process of selling it along with my bantam MGL. I don't want to have more than 10 reels and I kind of need fund for other reels. I'm not really into BFS I just wanna be able to get some distance when casting Zoom Fluke Jr. Quote

Super User NYWayfarer Posted October 21, 2018 Super User Posted October 21, 2018 Birthday gift Lew’s Mach Crush spinning combo from Dick’s since I wanted the exclusive to DSG colors. The black Winn Grips won’t get filthy like the blaze orange ones. I was able to take it out yesterday and break it in DSG also had a 20% off all online orders this weekend that included sale items. I was able to get a Lew’s LFS baitcaster, normally $100 on sale for $80 down to $60. 5 Quote

Dangerfield Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Bought a LC Pointer 100SP (Chart. Shad) on my way up to the cottage for a weekend of freezing cold fall fishing, just over 32 degrees. Caught a nice LMB maybe 2lber. I like the finish/paint on the LC Pointer way better than my Duo Realis 100SP/120SP, hook rash wasn't nearly as noticeable. 1 Quote

I like small spools or small size like 50 to 70 for palm purpose. I hate those big ones my scoropin 70 is for my fluke setup with St. Croix Mojo Bass. I was able to cast far (35 yards) with two on, two off with setting at 3. Using 8lbs line. Quote
Super User JustJames Posted October 22, 2018 Super User Posted October 22, 2018 @Burkeyes I like 50 and 70 too, got 4 of 70s and 2 of 50s. I plan to use pixy with Fluke Jr. 4" which weight a tad less than 3/16 oz and Reg Fluke about 1/8, not Super Fluke ~3/8 oz Quote
