MHX MB843 blank and all the fixins to build it.

Just looked at some Helix's too for an order placement (9 or 10 and a 7). Tactfully trying to walk around those purchases so I don't end up buried in the back 40.

Just leave a treasure map to the purchases in case things go south...you will always be remembered through Mega SI as far as I am concerned.  :)

I'm actually looking at the same setup 10/9 and 7 on bow- my marina where I keep the boat during the winter usually gives me pretty good discounts, I need to make that phone call soon.

It's been a fairly slow winter for me, as far as Bait Monkey activity goes. By design, by the way! Still, you have to indulge occasionaly. So far I've taken home:

-2 Whopper Plopper 90, perch and sooner colors.

-8 pound Berkley Sensation- gonna try it out on a second spool for my Stradic. I plan on switching between my braid/fluoro spool to the Sensation one when I fish open hook presentations to make re-tying quicker.

-3 Cabin Creek Salty Critter Jr tubes 25pk (green pumpkin blue, Tennessee orange, pumpkin purple)

-5 Get Bit Baits tube packs (super excited for these!)

-3 packs of Kalin's Spot Stalker jigs (1/16, 1/8)

-4 Mepps dressed Aglias in brown and white.

--Still Need--

-Kalin's Linker Grub restock

-Siebert Sniper Jig restock

-River Rock 3 3/4" swimbaits

Add "Babe Winkleman's: Comprehensive Guide to Largemouth Bass Patterns" per some recommendations I read late lastnight.

I was so tired I don't even remember buying it until I looked at my account this morning..... :o

New handle?

I have that book -- the first 2/3 reads like an alternate version of the in-fisherman largemouth guide, if you're familiar with that, with standard stuff on bass behavior, seasons, location, lure types. The last 1/3 is the most interesting, as it goes into Babe's own advice on patterns -- the places he'd look for fish, and when, how he'd approach it, and with which techniques.

Yep, a new handle. Wanted it to be easier for individuals to identify with my location when giving or asking for advice.

Good to know about the book! The last 30+ books I've read have all been Louis L'Amour westerns so it'll be different reading a book where someone isn't shot...

That rat looks awesome! Hand made by you or a custom maker? I want to try and make one myself this summer. Do you know what hair/fur is on it?

20180223_195100.thumb.jpg.ab0d08580a3d616577cf7407cbb3671e.jpgfew things I picked up mostly at dicks clearance prices plus buy 4 get 1 and I had $20 dicks cash so why not. Few things from bass pro including the president. Funny thing about that dobyns sierra....I got it off of the trash route we run at work. Literally had 7/8th of an inch broke off. So now instead of a 6'9" medium light it's 6'8. And the frog was more my 4 year olds pick then mine lol

Interesting indeed! How big is it? It's hard to judge by the picture.

I recently got the origin C which is basically the same reel with an aluminum frame instead of a composite. Colors are reversed as well, white reel, black handle.

Along with it I have the Source X spinning reel. It’s got that same white knob that I can tell is going to get filthy fast. Let’s everyone know I used it.

First open tournament of the year is March 31st IF the water is thawed. Hopefully, these will be prime for ice out.

I finally decided to give the ned rig a try this year. I know I've said in the past that I'm not gonna do it but after hearing all the stories and seeing all the fish caught I figured why not. Its one more thing I can say "Blah" to.

Stopped by the local Walmart and found that they started moving some of the fishing stuff into the clearance section. Picked up 2 packs of Arkie weedless standup heads for $2 a pack. Mostly use them for twin-tailed grubs around rocks.
