Kalin's are my favorite grubs for trailers on my spinnerbaits and rigged with a Kalin's darter head. I really like the range of sizes, 3, 4,or 5 inch. Lets you tailor the bait to the basses preference.

They're my favorite too! I fish them as swim jig trailers almost exclusively. Mostly it's because they work and I haven't found a paddle tail swimbait for smallies that I prefer yet.

Yeah, it's nice having the 3, 4 and 5 inch sizes. I'd fish the 4" only if the watermelon red and chartreuse pearl came in the 4".

River smallies love the 90 here in Ohio.

Nice! I had some good success on the Perch 90 last year, but I didn't fish it a ton. Still did well whenever I used it! I'm hoping to use them a bit more next year. I'm super excited to fish the Sooner color.

Swung by Dicks Sporting goods earlier and they finally restocked and got in some new gear. Picked up some J Lee comback jigs, a Rapala BX brat, a SK 1.5 and a couple packs of pit bosses. Also recieved my first order from Siebert Outdoors.838793F8-02DA-4A0C-AA2B-3409D3DC2426.thumb.jpeg.e9579b05051eb6d3d0898cc56c60cfb1.jpeg

Remember this? I wish they can dig out a few more, I like these frogs26829981_783559598520722_1440512939_o.jpg?oh=e6aafb9a225ba1927296fbaa5ca0dec1&oe=5A5EBDCE

Hands down my favorite frogs, crushed a ton of 6lb fish on white during shad spawn on Fork. They take on water but so does every other top brand and I have them all.

yep just had to preform a slight modification to those so they didn't take on water

What mod do u do to the frogs? Silicone around the tails?

Got the first of many “winter goodies” to show up in the mail today, no bass fishing for me for quite a while yet so I guess I’ll just buy more stuff?

It got me again :( I picked up my first A-rigs, found them on sale. I got one for $3, and two more for $5 each. Barely over $14 total. :D

Nice! Where did you find these?

Is it spring yet?!?

Nice warm winter day here in New Jersey so I decided to make some casts at a local pond. Wasn’t expecting to catch anything but I was just itching to make some casts. Pulled up and the water was frozen over .

So I drove to Dick’s and splurged on some stuff in the clearance section:

Buy 5 get 5 free, turned into buy 15 get 15 free haha. Nearly bought all the Yamamoto plastics they had out.

And my “new to me” Chronarch MGL came in today too:

Spro Monkey bit me after the end of the 2017 season (my first), haven't even tried these out yet and they're already my favorite lures.

Rat-40 with amazing articulating action and a dull (in a good way) knocking sound.

Shad 40 (4", one fast sink, one slow sink)

Shad 25 (2.5" for the smaller ones, fast sink)

Not cheap but the quality and detail on these is so good and they should last longer than soft plastics. Replaced trebles with single barbless.

Why the single barbless hooks? Just curious.

Just purchased another 9606 split roof tacklebox. I fish with five tackle boxes now. Near the car of course. I’m not ready to down size yet. But I know it’s coming.

i purchased many whooper ploopers, custom painted baits, just need more storage space.

in my tackle room I have 18 tackle boxes with different baits, plus those large green spinnerbait boxes I use for storing plastics like 12 of those. And card board boxes full of new baits.

Im called a hoarder but I still can see the floor. Ok I buy new baits that interests me.

It seemed that every time I dealt with a treble, it was getting hooked on all the other lures in the tackle box; getting hooked on me; I get one third of the hook unhooked at one of the other hooks gets hooked on something else; seems too easy to get hooked on multiple places on the fish at the same time (harder to remove).

As for barbless I switched to them at the end of last season because it was faster and easier to remove the hook from the fish; less damage to the fish; quicker release; and if I hook myself, same applies to me. I just keep pressure on the fish during retrieve and haven't lost one yet. That's not to say I won't...

I'll be interested to see how the singles perform this season.

Let us know how it works out, I'm curious too. I've been using the owner safety caps to help with the tangles hooks issue, but yea I agree when you get one good in a fish it can be hard to take out. Especially with toothy critters!

Gonna try something new for storing soft plastics. This is marketed as a container for storing 4x6” photos that I got from The Container Store. It comes with 16-4.5x7” containers. I tested and can fit 5 packs of rage bugs in each container. I plan to use this to store soft plastics and then just toss a couple of 4-5 of the small ones in my co-Angler bag loaded up with the appropriate plastics.61507D33-DEC9-479A-92FF-EE1BAF927980.thumb.jpeg.5d16e13580cb7e755c9b68d9ab22802d.jpeg

Great idea to use that container with individual removable compartments. I thought about one of those a long time back, mostly to keep all those different colored plastics from bleeding on to each other...tye dye grubs and creatures aren't always very effective. ?

What made me decide against it was the price tag! Saw my first one at one of those big craft stores and they wanted over $40.  Was yours cheaper than that? If not guess I'll just keep mine in the bags they come in for while longer.

$29.99 plus tax.

They had a smaller version with only 12 boxes for $19.99, I opted for the bigger one since I figured I would eventually (or probably can now) fill it up.

Are the soft plastics reacting at all with the boxes? It's been a long while now but I recall buying something similar and the boxes melted as they weren't "wormproof" as they used to say in the old days.

Haven’t had it long enough to find out. 48 hours hasn’t melted or warped them, but I’ll keep an eye on it and update.

Will they fit with the plastic bags?  Or just the plastic trays the rage baits come in?
