I stopped by Academy to pick up some new hooks, but I left with hooks, frogs I didn't need, jerkbaits, swim jigs and lipless crankbaits.  Ended up spending nearly $50 on what should have been a $6 stop.

Bait monkey sucks.

Went old school and have started buying the pre-rapala era wiggle wart sub sets.  Got this magnum and have a wee wart coming any day now too.  Gave it a test run at a local steelhead spot and after tuning it to run straight, had a 6+ lb male smash it but threw the hooks on the surface.  Might need to replace the stock hooks.

We got off work early today. Went by Wally World and picked up a Bomber Shallow A fire tiger squarebill crankbait it works in up to 3' of water which is good for the ponds I fish. Also picked up a pack of Yum Swim N Dingers in watermelon red flake. Gonna try them out early in the morning through the afternoon. Gotta see when the fish are biting . They sure don't seem to be in the evening time now.

Stock hooks on the old warts were/are absolute garbage. I put EWG short shank Mustads on mine.

Thanks for the heads-up.  I'll look into that.

Stopped at Holloway Outdoors on my way home yesterday and picked up a replacement 3/8oz Dirty Jigs Tackle green pumpkin swim jig for the one I lost last weekend. I believe in a prior post I referred to it as a Dirty Jobs Tackle swim jig. Oops my bad! Also picked up a pack of Zoom green pumpkin Z Hogs. Used the Z Hogs shortly after I got home tied on my spinning rod with an 1/8oz bullet weight unpegged and caught a couple dinks. Didn't take pics, but they work.

The last 3 months at the assisted living facility (Pleasant Meadows ) I have made great progress where I have under gone intensive one-on-one and group therapy sessions daily which has worked wonders warding off the bait monkey ... Unbeknownst to me involved a final test celebration cake and buried inside were a burner phone , a catalog of new arrivals from TW and a 15% off coupon ...  In less than 10 minutes I racked up over $1,400 with TW and that was just for soft plastics !! ... I have now been transferred to:  Secondary Point Maximum Security Prison for repeat bait monkey offenders  where I have been given a six month sentence to think about my transgressions - the bait monkey continues to be crafty and oh so powerful !!

First Megabass lures i've ever owned. DSG had these discounted a few weeks ago. Largest amount I've ever spent on a bait order. Hope they live up to the hype.

How much was the discount?  Just curious since i see megabass isnt discounted a whole lot from what i see.  Their usually excluded.

DSG had a pretty good discount on them earlier in the summer. I think the 110s were around $15 or $16. Last time I checked they still had some megabass discounted on select colors. But it was more in the range of $4 off. The trick on DSG is you have to put them in the cart and and see the price there. They don't advertise the price. The discounted items say "see price in cart" or something along those lines.

Didn't have much time this morning at Wally World before work. Been needing to get another one of these so I picked up a 3/8oz white Arkie jig. I was unhappy it didn't have a baitkeeper like my other one had though.

Upon arriving in Shreveport, for my move back, we had to pass by Academy on the way to the house. So we stopped there for a little while to browse. Bait monkey got me for a little more than I planned. Was hard to resist due to some of it was on clearance. Ended up getting some Sufix 832 Advanced Superline 30lb braid with GORE performanc fibers, a 3/8oz H2O Express spinnerbait in foxy shad color with a gold willowleaf blade and a nickel Colorado blade, a pack of Strike King Rage Tail 3.75" Rage Swimmers in green pumpkin color, a pack of H2O Express 5/O EWG offset heavy wire hooks and a pack of Eagle Claw size 2 dual lock snaps. Went fishing at the duck pond afterwards and ended up losing my Booyah Pad Crasher sunburn color in a tree on the other side of the duck pond(not used to be able to cast to the other side of ponds like that.. lol). Went back to Academy, on the way to the house, so I could replace it. Picked up the Poppin' version of it instead, it was 3$ cheaper and I've been wanting one anyways and also picked up my first jerkbait an H2O Express Model SJS suspending jerk shad in American shad color. Hoping to get a way out to a body of water today and see if I can catch something to post.
