Went to the local Gander Mountain to take advantage of the the closing sales. All baits and line were 40% off. I originally was planning to restock on hooks but they had a lot of stuff I liked on sale. They had at least 30 spools of Smack down for 40% off so I may go back and buy a few more also got a couple spools of mono for leaders. I was also pretty excited to find that Spro Rat. I've been wanting to try one for a while and I snagged that one for $15.

Reel and treble covers, how exciting!

I love my treble covers, I may spend 20 seconds putting on a set and a rod sock but I can have a rod out and ready to fish faster than you can grab something out of the cooler, and I never have a tangle or snag.

LOL,  I didn't realize this was an old thread until after I posted.  I never see anyone talk about treble covers and I really like them.

Sounds like you're having a good time. Now just drive north a few hours and we'll put those 90's to use on a bunch of smallies :)

Really wish I could swing that.

My whopper plopper 110's finally made it, and I was finally able to rescue this guy from the dungeon at my local PO.

Took him for a test swim today, I think I'm going to really like it. Makes a very nice "bloop" on the twitch. The flat sides let it cut, roll, and glide almost without moving forward. Pops back up hard and bobs a little like a bluegill that's circling the drain.

I haven't really fished it yet, since it's as big as most of the bass in my pond are for now, but that's gonna change really soon.

A small handful of 2K Jigs from a local Mom & Pop: that's 3 Freaks, a Deposit, and 2 Deposit Jackpots:

Nah, it's a tiny puddle. Many managing it to be a spot my boys can walk to and catch a couple when they get old enough.

How tiny is tiny ? I fished one that was probably 100 x 20 feet... Not yards lol. And caught a bass out of it that was probably 16" and hadn't been stocked in years !

You could always grow some monster gills in there !

There's big bluegill in there, a half dozen nice channel cat too. It'spretty similar dimensions and pretty shallow. I'm sure they can get a couple pounds eventually.

Dicks had buy 2 get 1 free in any combinations of their DTs, Rippin Raps, and Shad Raps. Also, they had $5 special (or 50% off) on some of their LiveTarget lures. Always wanted to try the Crappie pattern to mix it up. Tough to resist at that price point.

130 dollars of line for 40 bucks, how could I resist...

I figure each will get me 3-4 spools of line, and considering I usually change braid once a year or even less often...I should be set on frog line for the next decade lol.

Yup lol. I was only gonna get a couple as well, but then I figured I probably won't get this good of a price for a long time, might as well stock up.

I stopped by F&S last night. VMC hooks were buy 3, get 3 free. I had went in to get a pack or two of VMC Neko hooks, so I ended up walking out with 6 packs of Neko hooks. Throw in the $10 coupon I had and I was out the door with 6 packs of VMC hooks for a whopping $0.50!
