Local tackle shop walked in and bought them all.  Also had a few Excalibur jerkbaits but I left those for now.

Oh I definitely will.  It's going on an Orochi XX Flatside Special and will be my primary hardbaits rig.  I can't wait to see how far that setup whips a 110!

Hopefully you try this on a very big lake.  Congrats on the acquisition!

Thanks!  Been watching and waiting for a deal on one for a while.  Wrapping up the ski season and it was my first running this place so I decided this was my celebratory "yay me" gift to myself for not going crazy or dying before spring came.

Last week stopped by Dicks when me and a couple friend were at the mall. They had a decent amount of stuff on sale so I got a pack of Missile Baby D-Bombs, two packs of 6" roboworms, two packs of 10" curly tailed power worms (a favorite of mine for Carolina rigging), a Cavitron buzzbait, and a Savage Gear Snack Size Bluegill that looked too tasty not to grab for full price. Everything else was about 25% off.

Dicks just sent out a flyer with some nice deals in it. Savage gear has a nice sale going on 2 for 25 ducks and rats and 6 for 25 mice and frogs. Jawbone is also having a good sale

I went online to see what all the hoopla was about. Clicked on the Japan Tackle site. Read the description...Computer controlled? Do you happen to own a Ranger also. Good lord man that's spendy.

Hopefully they will throw in a free hat...

You'd be surprised.  I've had my eye out for a deal on one for months.  Just so happens the timing on this used model was perfect.  I would never in a million years pay retail for one (or pretty much anything!) fwiw.

I basically only fish from a kayak and prefer remote/secluded smaller waters.  Very rarely from a bigger boat.  Keeps it simple and relatively cheap and lets me dial my

combos to perfection.

The DC reels are unreal though.  I bought an Exsence DC last year for my H rod and was impressed with its versatility and ease of use... Considering how much one can spend on a non-DC reel it is pretty much a no-brainer to me to make the jump to DC braking.  It isn't "necessary" but it is a really nice system and I enjoy it immensely.  Very excited to try the 4x8 system!

I've been pretty impressed with the DC reels as well.  The Exsence DC and metanium DC are both pretty phenomenal, their braking is pretty easy once you understand their functions.  I usually keep the braking rather light, I almost forget it's there.  You will love the Antares DC.

I had managed to stay away from the monkey, but ended up running into him at Gander Mountain on Friday. Got out with only a three pack of florescent colored square bills from the clearance rack. Of course they went right onto the workbench at my gf's stepdad's shop to be repainted as sexy shad, hot mustard, and probably black back chartreuse. For $8 plus a bit of labor in the shop I'm happy (and the monkey is calm for a little while)

and they are finished... here are the first two, not sure if the third one is going to be hot mustard now or not.

I bought a Fred's Magic Stick to use as a frog rod, but figured it was a good excuse to give swimbaits a try.

A Hudd 68 Special and a Huddgill.  I can see why people lube them up with scent, the plastic is very tacky and just reeks of chemicals/paint.  Overall they are very underwhelming to see in person, the hook slot seems really tight and I don't see how they will last for more than a couple of fish. My gill even came with a bent and ripped fin;

I fixed it with some Mend-It, which did work very well.  However, I am excited to try them, I have seen enough videos and read enough praise for them that I have a lot of faith they will work.  I have a few smaller ponds that I fish that are both stocked with rainbows and have a large population of bulegills right around the size of the lure.

A question though, how do I tie these on?  Can I use a oval ring or do I need to tie a loop knot?  Also, I was thinking of using 12lb YZH for line, will that work for this presentation?

Scorpion DC is cheaper than the MGL.  I hear so far they are decent.

I wouldnt bother with the Scorpion.  I've heard it is very lackluster in the casting distance department.  Exsence is pretty much entry level for a real DC system, but 4x8s and such can be found used for pretty darn reasonable IMO considering what brand new non-DC stuff goes for.

That 10" Hiroshima is unreal haha
