Those BioSpawn VileCraw and Strike King Rage Tail Lobster plastics just don't hold up. I went through several bags of each the other day getting 1 maybe 2 fish per bait. Jeff the guy I fish with said they couldn't have made these any more perfect for you to have to buy more. I agreed there is no reason that plastic needs to be that delicate. The Paca Craws seemed to hold up much better for us. We went to using worms pretty heavy since they were ripping the appendages off so bad on the others. Heck I forgot I even had the D Bombs since I initially disliked them so. Wish I would have remembered.  Here is literally a sample of what was left. Many never made it back to the boat. One strike or catch and the bait was gone or destroyed. 3 Quote
r3825 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Three weeks in a row the bait monkey got me again,  tatula froggin rod,  duckett ghost mh rod and this week an aetos from the end of season clearance, plus 600 yds of power pro,  some keitech swing impacts,  it's like Christmas but better. 4 Quote

Super User whitwolf Posted August 20, 2016 Super User Posted August 20, 2016 Some Bill Norman Snatrix. I have hunted for a pack of these since the early 2000's and It finally happened! These and the Rebel ringworms were the first plastic worms I fished back In the 70's. Â Enjoy! 9 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted August 20, 2016 Super User Posted August 20, 2016 Just ordered 9 Rapala Crankin Raps because the are discontinued . They have quickly  scaled the hierarchy in my crankbait box . Too bad they dont have a twenty foot model . 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 21, 2016 Global Moderator Posted August 21, 2016 I've been on a big bait kick lately. Not swimbaits, although there's been some of those in there, just bigger standard baits. The new YUM Magnum Christie Critter with a full sized brush hog bait and Pit Boss for scale. and the new magnum H2O squarebill from Academy with a Strike King 8.0 and LC 1.5 for scale. 8 Quote

However, I was looking for a new jig rod/reel and it was hard to turn down a shallow spool shimano curado at 30% off. I'm excited to at least give it a try. Can't believe I survived the flurry of bids in the last minute! Quote
Travis Gasper Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I couldn't wait any longer, had to order a Double Plopper. I've had a lot of fun and success on the Whopper Plopper, hopefully this is just as good. The part that really sold it for me is that I can work this one through the weeds. The "I Know It" color is money. 2 Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted August 24, 2016 Super User Posted August 24, 2016 I hike a lot and always bring a rod along.  Tackle is an issue as I want to stay light, but also don't want to damage my plastics by jamming them into my daypack.  I ordered these the other day and just picked them up: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012ETLYL8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They look like they will hold maybe 6-8 5" senkos and 3-4 flukes each.  They don't seem to be as sturdy as a plano but they are perfect for fishing on the go. I also picked this guy up: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011ANCAJO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1  I was looking for a bag to use for outings more then 1/2 a mile but less then 5, when I bring a real back.  I had one of their chest packs that I loved and this one is looking to be as good.  It holds a singe 3600 box with enough room left over for a change of socks, a few bags of plastics, misc supplies and first aid kit, and a raincoat strapped to the bottom.  I loved the "workbench" on my chest pack and this one is even bigger.  I am leery of slings due to lugging around over stuffed messenger bags for years, but with some self control I hope to keep it light enough to be comfortable.  4 Quote

Super User bigbill Posted August 24, 2016 Super User Posted August 24, 2016 Custom painted River Rat lures ebay. There very affordable and the paint job is awesome. The quality is like what the $25/$30 crankbaits cost. I hope to get more. Quote
