frosty Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 My first cave in to the bait monkey. Ordered some Ned rig tackle to replace my small box of stuff I lost the other day, and picked up some stuff at a couple tackle stores the wife let me visit today. I'm excited to try those Yamamoto swimbaits, they looked like they had great action. Oh yeah, got some drop shot stuff, I'm excited to try that out to. 3 Quote

Though the quality had downgraded, I still prefer the Luck"E"Strike brand because the hook has a long shank to it & it has heavier gauge wire - which puts the hook point closer to the tail, and is also less prone to bending which has lead to good hook-ups (usually through the side of the hard gill cover) leading to less lost fish. As far as worms go, I use a Texas Rig... I peg the weight so it pretty much accomplishes the same thing as using a Jig head, the Offset hook helps keep the bait straight (which I use Super Glue to keep it in place), and you can rig it weedless.WolfyBrandon 2 Quote

Also any major differences from a shaky head and a Texas rig? Quote

Super User ChrisD46 Posted July 26, 2016 Super User Posted July 26, 2016 Just got out of bait monkey rehab and entered a half way house . While taking a walk around my new neighborhood surroundings I came upon a small mom & pop store with a sign out front : "Zoom Soft Plastics - "Buy One Get One 50% Off " ! ... I went inside and as soon as I plopped down all the Trick worms I could carry to check out , I was apprehended - it was a sting !! I should have known it was too good to be true !! ... Now back to rehab - I hope I get out before the Fall shad run !! 4 Quote

Now 50% off all zoom in a bargain bin well I would understand. First step toward recovery is admitting you have a problem. Quote

Super User fishwizzard Posted July 26, 2016 Super User Posted July 26, 2016 Yea, the ribbon tails were a good score. Outlet Bait has them super super cheap right now. I really should order more. Otherwise you can still find the SK equivalent on ebay. Quote
