My first $50+ purchase in baits at TW, and my first Shimano reel ever that I got as a gift. I will probably try out finesse jigs with it.

I got a Lews reel in the mail today, a TLP3000 spinning reel.  Spooled it up with 10lb floro, then discovered that the anti reverse was busted

Getting the line back off the reel on to the spool was a huge pain and I am cranky as hell about it.

In happier news, I got my first order from Gopher Tackle in:

I have been fishing a ned rig for some time and decided to give the Gopher jigs a go.  So far I am impressed, they are far easier to get the worm on to then the BPS version and have a much much smaller head profile then the z-man ones.  I also got some of their Prowler Heads, and I have very high hopes for them:

I am going to try them on pickerel tomorrow.

J-Dream?? Ugh F U. I've been trying to find a 7X LH since Jesus was a baby and it just won't happen. Side note..is that a Balsa Megabass crank? I'm curious how it compares to the E1. I'm a sucker for Balsa.

For size comparison.  The picture doesn't do the paint job justice, it's beautiful.

A trip to Academy on the right and a trip to DSG a few weeks later.  This doesn't include the MTB Pro box I received this week.

Nice reel, I'll be ordering the Super Duty next week, and use it for the slop punching, and bring with me when I go south to do some Inshore fishing.

Nice, yeah it's my first Lew's and I love it so far. Can't wait to get some heavy braid on it and start tossing frogs.

Are those punch weights under the rage tails in your picture?

No picture, but finally got my rods in!

Got my first order of siebert jigs. Man, these things are like little works of art. The hooks are no joke either. Really looking to practice this technique and now I have some awesome jigs!

Yea I thought the craw color was sweet so I had to get it, but I really think the secret gill color is going to tear them up. That one is the 1.2 and in the super clear reservoirs I fish at, I think they'll love it.

SB setup is now complete! The first XP 867 that I know of in existence, super happy that they are now running Fuji's.

Just ordered a tatula reel! Excited about it. I need some good suggestions for a crankbait /spinnerbait rod though.

Check out a Dobyns Fury 734C for a spinnerbait rod or 705CB for a crankbait rod. Also Walmart.com has Tatula rods for just over $100 which is about $50 off. Where did you order your reel from?

Here you go. 7'1" medium heavy extra fast tip. It won't make a good crankbait rod but can double as a frog rod.

I'm 5'9" and my longest pole is 7'7".

picked up some more barbarian trebles in #4 and #6 on friday so i spent some time saturday replacing hooks on my strike kings and a couple other baits. also picked up a hollow body sunfish  i just think it should be bigger

edit: looking at these right now some bigger cranks made locally thinking about picking a couple up.
