Went to Ultimate Fishing Show in Novi, Michigan today.  Tubes from Wayne Carpenter of Lake St Clair;  Ztech finesse and TRD worms for Ned rigging,  some Shroomz jigs for Ned rigs, Snack Daddy craws in Roseville, Michigan - very nice.  Great action.  Great price.  And a bag for bottom bouncers.  $2.   Lots of college fishing teams with own booths.  Selling their hand made jigs, worms etc. CMU in Michigan- real nice natural rubber jigs where strands stand up- wire tied strands- durable available in football, finesse, Arkie style.   $4 for 5.   Use with Snack Daddy craws.  The show was packed. KVD, Mark Martin n more.  Once a year fun.  Last day tomorrow.

Spent a couple hours on the Ned Rig sticky... then placed an order on TW for a bunch of Z Man TRDs and Shroomz.  Bass have been biting weightless Yamamoto Cut Tail worms near the shore, in 50deg water.  But another cold front now.  Will give the Ned Rig a try later this week.

Tackle Monkey got me bad this week.

Picked up-

Roman Made Throb

MS 9" Slammer

7'8" Enigma flipping rod

and when I said I was all done I walked into the tackle store last night after selling a rod and walked out with this-

7'2" Crucial Rod and a Stradic FJ 2500

Love what they did with the green Crucials.  Feathery light, super crisp and tons of backbone- they are truly the bargain version of the green NRX IMO.  The black ones were good but the EVA I just couldn't get used to.  Those green ones though...  Oh yeah.

That dark green is my favorite color and when I saw it and picked it up and the sales guy at the store said someone came in and said that this combo was too heavy I had to put them both together and feel it and I called the guy crazy that said it was too heavy.

I wish Shimamo had a better warranty! I would be all over their rods

I really like 13's policy of a your choice of a flat fee for replacement or upgrade as you desire.  It may not be a free replacement but it also serves to switch things up if you want.  One time I broke the tip off a ML spinning rod and exchanged it for a heavy casting rod!  $75 definitely sucks to fork over but it's better than $250 for a new rod, and it also gives you the freedom to choose your replacement.

I don't know about favorite but I definitely think they are a great value.  Those NV rods give you a lot of bang for the buck and are very versatile.  The handles and reel seats are hit or miss but I really like them.  I have two currently and they are on par with some of my other rods costing much more.

13 degrees outside and what do I do?  Yesterday I bought a nice rod, today I bought line!  Plus I bought my first pack of tungsten weights.  Wow, are they expensive.  I'm going to try 1/8 and 1/16 weights for my Texas rigs.  I'm going to be ticked when I snag one and it breaks off. Also got Berkley Rib Shad 4.5in.  I'm going to throw that thing a lot this spring and hopefully catch a big one!

Just pay close attention to your bait. Make sure it isn't too shredded at the hook to stay weedless. That saves me a lot of snags and lost weights too.

You are the 2nd guy on here to the Exscence DC recently. Leave some feedback when you get to use it. I am sure you will like it and have some fun with it.

My TW order came in on Friday. A pointer 78, a picasso a-rig, and a ton of keitech swing impacts. They tear easy but those things friggin' work.

Caught fish on everything within 24hrs of arrival :D

Yeah I was shopping around for a DC reel when that conversation came up.  I was looking at a Scorpion DC until Booty saved me (good lookin' out man!) from myself by correcting me in thinking the two shared a DC system (it's just the brakes).  I like fast reels so it should be a perfect fit.  It even matches perfectly.

Im definitely excited for it.  Should be a really versatile and easy to use combo that should pair perfectly with my others.  The simplicity and specifics of that particular DC system appeals to me for sure.  Gonna spool 'er up with some 12# Tatsu, and intend to get a spare spool to load up w some 20-30# smackdown too for fast swaps.
