I want one but can't decide between chrome gill or rainbow trout

My chrome gill came in today and let me take a word from when my 29 yr old was younger…it’s fire!

Gonna throw it at Wheeler Lake tomorrow. Pretty excited…

So I think I got an ok deal on these. A couple of weeks ago I won an an online auction for this LC topwater pack. After taxes fees and shipping it was 47.36 so 4.31 a lure. This will really put pressure on me to up my topwater game. Few more items later from my weekend trip.

So part 2 I picked up some stuff at R & R sports in Bettendorf Iowa. This is the second time I have stopped and it is a nice shop and also caters to the hunting crowd too. 1 pack of 3.75” swim on in sunfish swirl, 1 4.25” swim on, and 1 craw tube in tilapia. I love that craw tube. I needed a water red tube with the ribs, used to use the old Trigger X tube and bought a 100 pack last year figuring worst case I cut the craw bits off. Never needed too, the tubes were dynamite.

I do really like the colors on the soft swimbaits, PT Shad. A little bummed they also didn’t have it in the smallest size.

Stopped by a local shop today and was surprised they had some stuff from Evergreen.  I can't believe I bought a rat.

I also picked up a new knife to use on the kayak. It's a Kershaw Auto cleaver. I found a really good deal on it. It's probably the highest end knife I own. Once I held it in hand, it just felt right.

The bait monkey showed up at my door due to you guys posting all these sales. Everything I purchased was 25 to 75% off and you guys still cost me $370!

I can't wait to get home and check it out. Two more hours!

Stocked up on a few more TW exclusive black/blue Jackhammers. They're my new favorite. Got more Vapor Shad's. The Hematoma Red Glitter color is different. The blue in it is translucent.

I notice Berkley isn't making the Powerbait Bunker Hawg anymore, so had to stock up on some I found. Will probably get more. They have the MaxScent Creature Hawg now instead. It's almost identical, but it's $3/pack more ($6 vs $9) and comes with 2 less baits. The Bunker Hawg is one of my favorite punching baits, even though it isn't overly durable.

Took advantage of Dick's buy 3/get 3. $5 EVOs is a steal. I should've got even more.

I too am a fan of Deep Creek Lures.

FYI, if anyone's been waiting - FishUSA has stock of Drift Frys, 4" and 5.2". I just bought a handful because, because :)

Things I probably should have bought during the 20% sale but whatever, the monkey has sharp claws.

I haven’t found a use for the 3.5” spunk shad. What are you going to use it for? I’m guessing I could throw it on a chatterbait mini?

It’s weird because I have chatterbaits that I have used for ten years, but let me pick up some jackhammers and I lose them within two months. So I bought two more this week along with 4 packs of Freeloaders and a pack of Senko.

A month ago I ordered the new 8:2 version of the Shimano SLX XT 150XG. I didn’t have an 8x in my arsenal but didn’t want to spend $300 on a reel. I heard a lot of rave reviews from iCast about this reel and the major component upgrades over the previous version. For $99 it sounded like a deal I couldn’t pass up.

Yep primarily mini max trailers. I do have some little range roller heads somewhere too so maybe try strolling them one of these days.

Really good on finesse jigs and on little jig heads in shallow clear water.  I fish them from the bank and they are skunk beaters on really tough days.

I’ll have to try that. I’ve only ever used them as trailers, to which I believe they are awesome! When I’m in/around Chattanooga, I’ll stop into Hog Farmer and stock up.

What's the deal with this stuff, have you used it before?

Been wanting to make my own "Taku powder".

Reminds me of when I was a little kid, and my buddy's dad would coat pieces of ham with grape koolaid powder for fishing.

I remember thinking "I'd eat that."
