For me it's just a storage thing. I already have around 90 plano boxes full of stuff. When I fish I go through everything and load up 2 3600 deeps and whatever plastics I need into my tackle backpack with the days needs. I mostly fish out of a yak or on the back of others boats so this is what works for me. If I had a boat, it may be a bit different. Maybe someday... 2 Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted February 23, 2024 Super User Posted February 23, 2024 Took advantage of TW's latest extra 25% off discounted sale items. Flat Daddy's for $3. Hard to pass up. Like I said, 13 Fishing hard baits are so underrated. Sad to see them go if that's really what's happening. And a few 6th Sense stuff from Copper State. Anybody ever use the Duel Hardcore Noi-Z? It was $7.50, marked down from $20 so figured I'd give it a shot. It kind of reminds me of the Megabass I-Loud. 5 Quote

Probably 90% of my setups are Shimano, but I've really enjoyed the Ballistic MQ and figured I had to give the Certate a shot after reading so many great reviews. I'll be putting it on a legend elite 76MF for tubes and all around finesse. I feel ya. I got bit too. It feels solid and smooth, sort of like the Shimano Bantam of spinning reels. I took it for a test run and caught one dink. Looking forward to catching something more substantial. 5 Quote
Super User ATA Posted February 24, 2024 Super User Posted February 24, 2024 Bought a brand new Berkley for $19 for my work station for spooling my reels, Then browsing eBay I found a vintage casting reel from Berkley that can matchy matchy with the rod, So I went for it(actually my girlfriend bought it for me🙃). It became nice combo for work station spooling. 10 Quote
Eric 26 Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 @ATA That is one kick a** combo my man 😃 And the price couldn’t be better to boot 😉 @ATA Maybe our vintage experts aka @bulldog1935 & @redmeansdistortion along with the others on here can shed some light on that reel. PS I totally dig the shape of that reel. 1 1 Quote
Super User bulldog1935 Posted February 24, 2024 Super User Posted February 24, 2024 @Eric 26 I think it's unlikely Berkley actually built the reel - highest probability, it was made for them by Shakespeare/Kalamazoo. The Japanese still love their direct drive reels - they call them Revolvers - and love fighting bass with no A/R, drag or clutch. They like our old Shakespeare and Langleys. (so do many of my friends) Direct Drive Revolvers still come off the bench at Isuzu and Ebisu, competing for bench time with the other reels these small shops bench-make - they're limited, high-demand, and they sell out. Unfortunately, it sold, but there was a BP Bait on Yahoo last month that was a virtual twin of @ATA's Berkley - drive side plate was the same guitar shape. Closest I can find in current search is a round reel. https://noppin.com/yahoos/detail/j1032675156 Original list for Isuzu Tabby (6 ball bearings) - note the price is more than doubled in resale 6 Quote

Smirak Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Didn’t purchase anything, but was driving back to N Alabama from the Atlanta area, and my truck veered off the road in Acworth. I figured since I had already veered off the road, I might as well stop by Bass Pro and see what people are throwing at Lake Acworth… it appears not much when you drive by the lake on I75 and realize it has to be down some 20’. Any local Georgians confirming that? Quote

The total weight is between 1-1.5 grams on the plastics and ice fishing jig heads Edited February 25, 2024 by Jmurphy87 Added photo of small plastic and ice fishing jighead 10 Quote
