My name is Kevin Smira. It pains me to say that I was only able to stay clean and sober (not buying any actual baits) for 25 days. Went down to smith lake (north Alabama) this am and had to stop in a local tackle shop to ask what’s selling and what’s biting. As many of you know, I didn’t have ANYTHING he said to use. So, I was FORCED to buy some. Grabbed a few crankbaits (KVD, SPRO, 6th Sense), a MB dynablade, some hover jig heads and gambler small presentation (can’t remember what they are), some more chatterspikes and some more spunk shad.

I have some reading up to do on the hover rig, as I’ve never fished it. But the guy said he keeps selling out of 3/0 1/8oz heads. So, I got some and now have to figure that part out.

and, I think since I wasn’t able to stay sober, I guess I’ll HAVE to spend a few gift cards I have to TW?

25 days. That's some willpower! I can't make it 25 hours.

I picked up a rod for hair jigs the other day, I got it out yesterday and it feels great.

This bass gear buying truly is an illness and it gets passed around faster than covid, rsv, and the flu combined.

They say some lures catch fish and others catch fishermen. This color definitely caught me and I'm fine with it even if it never catches anything. 😆

Been wanting this one for a while and couldn't pass it up at 20% off.

And a few more baits to round it out...

I bet it was in that 48min video he posted about this bait a few weeks back.   I couldn't do 48mins for a bait I didn't own at the time 😁

The guy I won it from has really cool big swimbait footage on his channel where he trolls them in front of one of those underwater cams meant for it.  He did a recent one on this bait and it was blowing out.   He gets fish catches on KGB glides on it which is how I found his stuff.

Interested to see how you like the Hangover. Personally I thought it was one of the worst swimbaits I have ever used and will probably junk it. Make sure to give it a good whiff as well.

I wanted to try a smaller Ned setup, those larvaz don’t weigh anything and finding a hook that fits them is not easy either. I have been wanting to find more colors of the evo chatter bait and I did, so I grabbed a couple.

Haha.  I got sucked into that last winter too with the Viper Tiger pattern.

I was catching smallmouth on a perch pattern pretty regularly last October so I gave the Viper Tiger pattern a try for 30 minutes.  They wouldn't touch it.  Went back to the perch and started catching fish again.

When you guys order from TW, who usually delivers your good? From day 1, a number of years ago, they have always used UPS. Well, for me at least. I notice the order I placed a few days ago is coming via FedEx, which I have had TERRIBLE luck with. Always arriving later than scheduled. Always a delay.

And if you live in a city, they just chuck it near your apartment's address.  I have great neighbors, but not everyone on the sidewalk is a neighbor.  Definitely my least favorite shipping company.  Now, I only let them deliver to a business affiliate and go pick it up.  My TW has always been UPS in the past as well.  Best of luck!

Always UPS from Tackle Warehouse. UPS is my preferred shipping company.

@NorthernBasser when I have ordered from TW the gear has been sent UPS....other tackle/bait companies seem to vary their carrier from USPS to FEDEx to Speedie Delivery......FEDEx has been a negative for me as well with a number of packages left at the front door in rough shape (one was missing more than 50% of the contents due to the top and one side of the box having been torn open)......hoping that you get all of your gear on time and in one piece !!

GLS in California and almost always overnight delivery. Ups or FedEx if something has to ship from the east Coast warehouse

Yeah, I really hope this isn't gonna be the new norm. Issues with FedEx is widely documented. It's amazing they can't seem to figure things out. Not to mention employ more respectable delivery drivers. I'm sure using them is cheaper than going with UPS. Omnia used them I know.

Delay is one thing. But I'm more worried because I have rods coming.

Scored a lot of unopened Japanese Shad red eye shad on eBay for about 5$ a pop.  I LOVE ghost lipless colors and these look like shiners and mosquito fish that you see loaded in the ponds here.

Why does Strike King discontinue their best colors????
