I have been looking for some more jerk baits, my plan is to work on building some more confidence with them next year. I wanted to go to a different store but I don’t have my car back from the shop yet and I am on foot. This time I headed off to Ollie’s. I decided that I needed some more lucky craft jerk baits. I got various sizes and 2 lv 500 lipless.

5 lightning pointer 110sp

2 slender pointer 97mr

2 flash pointer 100

1 pointer 78 sp

2 pointer 95

2 lv500

not a bad haul for $80

You did good on those clearance LC's for sure.  IMO no jerkbait arsenal is complete without Smithwick rattlin' rogues and rapala x-raps ?.

Yeah before I downsized some stuff, I had around 8 of the x-rap, of various sizes. Thanks for the suggestions I will look into some of the smithwick ones.

They come in their own swimbait wraps?......if so that's awesome

I think these will compete with the Clutch Darters as they look more like a good Herring swimbait than Shad.   IIrc you fish Herring lakes, should be money.

Obviously not a picture of my actual rod, but I have one just like it now, and I'll get to fish it this weekend. Super curious to see how the recoil guides are. I have a stack of heliums, z-bone, and a SC legend X,  to compare it to, but no NRX+/Conquest which is the target.

Got a new MegaBass JDM P5 Destroyer 110 Stick today from Dance's Sporting Goods.   Awesome place to buy Megabass stuff from!      Weighs absolutely nothing.

I went pumpkin picking with my wife/ daughter and this time they had a handful of vendors. Of course the Monkey likes pumpkin picking too apparently. Custom painted swim bait for $40. He had a bunch but not in shad pattern other than this style but if it works well I'll be getting some more. He also had a boat load of hand painted crankbaits and does replica taxidermy. Asked him why he was so cheap and he said "if you have a $40 swim bait and a $150 swimbait and they work the same which one will you throw more?  I'd rather you use mine all the time and get more than never use it".

Love it.  NC fella too.  Gonna have to add that to my note to Santa along with the Daiwa Tatula 7'1 MHXF.  I want to get some nicer glide baits for the late winter early spring transition this year for sure.

He had glide baits, s weavers and he called this one the deep belly or something like that. Says it's surprisingly slow sink. Well see. Nice guy.

Academy has some fishing clearance that started today.

Stealth Blade Jackhammers, Thunder Crickets (including the tungsten ones), and 3/8oz CrossEyez chatterbaits for 9 bucks each.

Gold label Seaguar for 9 bucks, ~6 bucks for those Savage Gear 5" swimbaits (not the 4" ones though sadly).

I only got one fishing item when I went to Cabelas this past week. I have a friend that likes to go shooting once a week. Well we went so much I went through all my ammo so I had to get a little bit so we can go shooting together again. He sometimes gives me ammo to clean his guns. He hates doing it. But he hasn't needed any done lately.

Anyways. After spending over 2 hours looking at stuff to get and changing my mind a million times. It is hard when you have limited funds and you want to take the whole store home with you. LOL I found they had a Chatterbait Elite for $5.99. So I bought one. I should have gotten both. Duh. It is a color I have never seen. Redbone. I looked around for trailers for it for a long time. Decided to just use what I have at home. The green pumpkin pearl looks pretty good.

I went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries. And of course I had to go down the fishing aisle. I saw they had a War Eagle Finesse spinnerbait. I have one in Purple Shad and the fish can't seem to resist it a lot of the times. Normally within 5 cast I will catch one. So when I saw they had a different color, Mouse, I figured I would pick one up. We will see if it is as good as the Purple Shad.

A friend brought this down to me today.  Leaving tomorrow for Magdalena Bay for two weeks.  I hope to be able to give good review after I get back from the trip.  I am afraid that the Monkey will be convincing me to buy some swimbaits now that I have reel made for larger baits.

He got me guys............The bait monkey got me. I've got multiple orders coming in. The first from Woo Tungsten. I got almost every size of non chip punching weight they have. I bought a few of their weights a while back and have really been pleased with this company's tungsten. The next order is from Hook Up tackle. I'm not gonna say what I got from here because they are already hard enough to find. To make it short I got a ton of swimbaits that are discontinued or not found in the United States. The third and final order comes from Shane's baits. I ended up buying an Upper Blades of Glory and a Lower. I got a few other things from there as well. The bait monkey hit me hard this week putting me out $500.😭

That’s how I feel every time I buy a crank-bait. Just a matter of time!
