Some minor restocking for chasing smallmouth in small rivers: Couple UL Pops, an XR-4 and a HJ-6. Strike King underspin and pack of Swimmers. 4F172CAC-D09A-44FA-B866-24A720CFB730.thumb.jpeg.b617bbd0352add326ea9993bd781ef00.jpeg

I just built a BFS rod and wounder her up with 6lb FC and looking for more finesse lightweight stuff to throw on it and those Raps look like they may do well. Which ones are your favorite? Also what is the name of that spinner where the blade goes under it? I saw it a youtube video and added it to my list of things to get.

I would use as thin a diameter line as you can for the tiny X Raps and Husky Jerks. The XR-4 especially is really tiny. Line that isn’t super thin won’t let them have much action. The X Raps and UL Pops are two

of my favorites. And the spinner is called an Underspin. That is Strike King underspin, and actually their saltwater one. But I see nothing about it that makes it saltwater exclusive. Works great for bass.

I decided that I didn’t have enough Gambler lures to justify the Gambler sticker on my truck so I made amends. Bait monkey helped, how nice of him

I left the Bait Monkey at home and only picked up what I absolutely needed ( Translation, my wife was with me when I went to Bass Pro Shops.)  My first chance to go to a tackle store in the US for over a year, and the Bait Monkey was not at my side.

They have worked ok for me so far this year.  Here are a couple I caught with them in May. T Rigged 1/4 oz weight June bug.

Thanks. A couple years ago I used to throw the 7” Burner worm non-stop when the water is warmer. Not really sure why I got away from it.

As for the burner craw, I like the thick body in heavy cover. That bait is phenomenal in lily pads with a flipping hook. I imagine it’ll do great in any sort of heavy cover, though.

First time for everything:

1. First ever spook (replaced trebles with Owner ST-36BC #2 and #2 Spro Power Split Rings, I think some threads said #3 but #2 seems good enough)

2. First ever poppers except for my good ol' trusted hula popper collection. Pop-r and Ima popper finesse (I have a Lobina Rico Black Beauty en-route as well)

3. First ever jerkbait. Lucky Craft Pointer 78DD Jerkbait Aurora Black

Gambler burner worms and craws came in. I may post a photo later, but let me say off the bat that there are three colors that surprised me with how good they look: cracked copper, red ear, and most of all…. Friendly fire. Friendly fire looks very different than pic on TW

I bet that'll be fun. As many brown water snakes as there are around here, I've thought about getting one of those top water snakes to play with.

Hadn't fed the bait monkey since March, and this month, put a $200 cart together at FishingShop.kiwi to get free DHL - mostly lures, and mostly salt.  General range on the salt lures - what's missing are double-ups, and 7-10-g metal jigs with profile glow.

77-mm Ima K-Ta mullet on top - in 58 mm, this lure has caught fish every time I tied it on.  Left center are Maria Blues Code current drift-twich baits - the red/gold is profile glow.

ydFPWRp.jpg

Right-center, the Eclipse Drift-Pencil 75 profile glow (sinking bait that acts like a rolling bait).  just below it, Ima Koume60 golden mullet twich bait - another that catches fish every time it's used.   Bottom, Ja-Do Graver H mullet fishes fast and slow.  All of these will fish Arroyo channel at night and tide passes in the day.

Here's what you'll like better, a nice range of finesse spinnerbaits for our clear rivers and even clearer reservoirs.

Left, Ima Zinx Mini and Pro Factory Mini Spin.

u1f7zxO.jpg PAJ4Q2c.jpg

Right Evergreen Mondo Fry and Jackall Deraspin.

One nice narrow floater/diver, and a very productive finesse spoon that's candy (jade enamel on the convex, white enamel on the concave)- already had a Vanfook Twin Dancer double hook to replace the single.

What size and type hook do you use for the 7” burner worms?

So excited to finally get my hands on the new Calcutta MD 300. Been checking Digitaka a few times every week and was shocked to finally see it in stock!

Paired it up with my Onager and it feels pretty dang sweet. Hoping to throw the combo next weekend.

Also couldn't pass up trying a Karashi.

Okay so it’s been a while but as I recall, I used either a 6/0 EWG or a 5/0 mustad big bite worm hook - basically an oversized offset round bend.

It’s a massive worm
