Picked up a very gently used Conquest 842S off another forum and bought my first Shimano reel to go on it a Vanford 3000 20211014_201307.thumb.jpg.cc5563c5a4fac213d4d202dbc130f981.jpg

I have the same set up expect in 782s and Vanford 2000.  It is a great fishing combo!

Dude I got the same thing. Those smack in cold water. I prefer the pro blue red pearl color though.

I got some bait monkey karma today. A little while ago I noticed the Rage smokin rooster on the Sierra website for 3 bucks a bag and I sent someone a PM that I know really likes them. I hope they got some.

Today while waiting for my kids car to ge5 new tires my wife decided to stay out and hike and shop a little. The first store she picked was Sierra for some gummies which was a win for me and an eye roll for her.

Got 20 packs of smokin roosters for the same 3 bucks a bag. Two green  pumpkin purple gold 3 green pumpkin and 15 water red which is perfect. Now I just have to search on here for different uses for them.

After seeing pics  of @A-Jay favorite jig I stopped and grabbed a small sample of jigs to try. Going to see how they look in the water and how they fish before I stop and grab the rest of the colors and various sizes.

Sweet

I love Sierra Trading Post.  I buy nearly all my clothes there, as well as sunglasses, boots, and when lucky....fishing tackle.

Two questions, 1) do they have a split-belly? 2) do you know what they weigh?

I have been using the baby zoom supers a lot but would love a heavier plastic with about the same profile.

I haven’t opened them yet, I can check later when I get home . Water is still pretty warm, I’m planning on using them after Christmas

I can’t weigh them but maybe I can compare to something similar . People use them here to drop straight down, not sure if weight is a factor at least with that particular method. I’ve never tried them personally but they were affordable and seemed worth a shot .

Thanks!

Even just seeing if they feel salty like a Senko will tell me something.  I love fishing the Baby Supers on light tackle but they are so light that any kind of wind blows them around, esp if I am running braid/ leader.

Picked a few odds and ends that the monkey couldn't do without.

I also picked up some KVD line conditioner, two 1000 yard spools of Sufix Siege, a spool of 15lb Tatsu, and box of misc stuff from Sieberts.

My top secret bait is also in this stash as well.  The year is almost over and someone is bound to figure it out eventually.

It basically has the frame from the Tatula Elite from what I know which adds aluminum side plate to the aluminum frame. Also the carbon fiber handle, Zaion grips, and upgraded drag star.

Stuff for cold water spinnerbladin, mostly in muddy water. The Stanley vibrawedge I’ll use later in the year, but man that is the most gorgeous lure I’ve seen. No photos do it justice, it is a sight to behold. I took a gamble on the humdinger skirts, wasn’t sure how’d they’d work. I’m still not sure how I feel about them. They were incredibly hard to install on the single Colorados shown and also prevent me from using a trailer. I’m sure they won’t budge, but it was a pain to put them on and will probably be a pain to take them off. I also tore one. But, overall, I think these are some deadly spinnerbaits and I look forward to tossing em. Got some more pulse swimbaits too

Not sure on the secret bait, but I am really curious how the NetBait dagger works. I have had that thing in my cart numerous times only to remove it for something else.

You won’t be disappointed in the spinnerbaits. I like war eagles in general now that I discovered them, but the finesse with the wide willow has a little extra something working for it. Only thing I can figure is it’s something different pressured bass don’t see often and they jump on it. The bait is responsible for my upcoming Barlows order that started with a bunch of wide willows but unfortunately or fortunately didn’t end with just those blades:)

Another good jig fly to try would be a wooly bugger with a rabbit tail, cut from a zonker strip, instead of marabou. The bunny bugger has been my number 1 smallie fly I just never thought to tie it on a jig lol.

Pflueger President XT Limited Edition from BPS came in fast - 2 days after ordering! Extra unnecessary stuff added to qualify for free shipping and 10% discount. Basically I spent another $10 to save $8, although I prefer to think of it as "I got some experimental worms and a spinnerbait for $2".

Was traveling for work on Wednesday and stopped into a local tackle shop that I heard was a Dobyns dealer. Have 7 Fury rods but wanted to handle some of their other lines since no one around home stocks them. Ended up bringing home a Sierra 682C to use for finesse swimbaits, slider rigs, weightless worms etc. Paid full price to support a local shop even though there are sales all over for this rod. Figured it was worth it just to be able to put my hands on one. They even offered a reel from the case to put on it to check balance. Wishing we did, but also happy we don’t have a shop like this (mostly saltwater here) closer to home or the monkey would be worse.
