Stopped at Dick Smith’s in Milwaukee for the first time and was impressed. Had a very good selection of bass tackle and the prices were decent enough. Got to hold a St Croix Victory and was really impressed. Unfortunately all the actions out right now I already have solid rods in the lineup. Once they release a medium action moderate rod I am all over it!

The big bite smallie smashers are a bait I have passed up on TW orders for a couple of years and decided to give them a try on a Ned rig. Similar to, but a little wider, than the MB bomb shot that has been a good Ned bait for me.  Likewise this year I had passed on the new plopper, but once I saw it I realized it would be perfect for my smaller river system. Then a couple of Musky baits and my wife picked out the jitterbug. Next time we are in Milwaukee I would definitely stop there again.

I've been to the one in Delafield. They have one in MKE now? The one in Delafield does have a nice collection for being a small place. But even at it's size it puts a lot of the big chain stores to shame with the baits they carry.

You are right, Delafield. I look at the whole thing as Milwaukee now apparently lol. As a kid I used to drive in all the time from the south side to shop, race RC cars, or go to Kopps but now rarely go in now and come from the north which takes me a bit to know where I am.

Finally decided on the reel that will end up on my dedicated frogging/punching setup. My first decision was whether I wanted to get an 8 speed or 7 speed. For frogging and punching alone, the 8 speed is fine (imo) but I considered a 7 because if ever I wanted to switch things up and place the “frog” reel on another setup, the 7 would be more versatile. I chose the 8 because that’s what was available. No biggie.

Next, I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to spend. I considered another Curado but figured the price wasn’t worth it especially since I probably won’t have this setup in my hands much.

So, I decider on a Fuego. Heard lots of amazing things about it and curious to see how it compares to the SLX. It feels great in hand and I’m itching to test it out.

I think you'll like it - I've got the Fuego 8.1 as my flip/pitch/frog reel and I can toss a 3/8oz hollow body about 20-25 yds on a Aird-X H/F with 50#PP - better/lighter rod could probably get more distance.

Just wanted to thank everyone for helping me with my problem. The one where I needed more fishing stuff. Now I have to wait for everything to arrive. I was away for a while not thinking about fishing, busy with other things. Then saw the Curado BFS ad. Then visited this site. It’s like going to an AA meeting inside of a bar.

I'm assuming he is referring to Ben from The Hook Up Tackle.

Speaking of The Hook Up Tackle, I just got a small order in from them. I really could have used this order yesterday. The bass had the baitfish pinned up against the shore where I was fishing, and were making repeated runs at them up into a few inches of water. I did fairly well with what I had, but I think I would have smashed them with these mylar minnows.

Oh, well that would be right on then. I called them, gave a description of my water/fish, and said build me a $30-$40 free rig starter kit. It was fun to open the box because I had no idea what would be in it, lol.

My Tatula 300 finally made it here. Picked a bad day though, showing up with 3 other boxes of fishing tackle ?

The Fury has arrived! Now I just need to get my butt on the water. Pretty quick shipping too thanks to TW opening up their Georgia warehouse.

I just picked one up too. Only complaint I have is the location of the hook holder.

I don’t have any complaints with the hook holder, but I did do a double take when I saw the location.

Ordered a bunch of red/orange trailers from TW for my Jackhammers but wow, 14 days just to process the order? WOW, might have to cancel.

Has anyone had any luck with TW getting them out sooner than that?

I believe Cali is on heavy workplace restrictions due to Covid, if you buy the 2 day shipping, it gets out timely.  I think this will be an issue for weeks, they seem slammed.

Yup. Pay the 15 bux and they get it right out. Past two shipments have gone that way for me.

Thanks, I'll call when they open and see if they can change the shipping.
