I was FINALLY able to score some OG Slim 06's at Bass Pro today. Picked up 3 to try out for now. Doubt if any will be left when the yearly sale hits later in February.

Also snagged a few Rapala Shad Rap 07's and a few of the newest  colors of DT-6's.

I wanted to purchase so much more, however the Bait Monkeys ultimate arch nemesis, aka my wife....well, you all know how that goes....?

First ever mega bass jerk bait.  Bought specifically for ultra clear northern Michigan lakes with extensive populations of perch IE crystal, big platte, and where ever else I venture too

I was looking through them wanting to buy one on eBay and I was thinking “man, I don’t really have anything perch”

It started with “just one” for a lot of us. You’re gonna like the one ten almost as much as the fish do ?

That's one of my top 5 deadliest baits. At certain points in the season it's #1. I rig it on an Owner TwistLOCK Light 6/0 3/32 oz Model no. 5167W-706. Super weedless, and great hookup ratio with this hook.

That looks deadly. Bait monkey is getting amped up again.  I’m glad you posted these.  They look very good in all of the colors they have.  Are they new ?

only issue with that mega bass perch is im sure that the big pike in crystal will like it just as well haha

That is what held me back (and still does) hold me back from basically stocking up on megabass jerk baits.  I'm so afraid of getting snipped off using one to the point where I won't use it in pike infested waters.  I'll stick to the rapala versions with those things in the area.  I can swallow the loss of an $8 lure instead of a $25 one.

Had to stop at WM. I strayed over to the fishing section. Whodathunkit? Not much. Pack of Zoom Tricks and Baby Brush Hogs in watermelon/red; 1/2 oz.  Strike King football jig with 2 Rage Tail Rage Craw trailers; and a classic Rapala floater in Silver.

Wally World has that SK jig deal for 2.46 which is a great deal.  The swim jugs come with a pair of Menaces as the trailer.  Good gifts.

Swim jugs???? Try jugs

No your right.  If a lake is full of hammer handles I don’t throw jerk bats at all.  Bigger northern I don’t have as big of issue getting bit off

Granted it’s not tackle my friends, but I thought this was worth posting. I wrenched my knee pretty good almost two weeks ago, I had to come up with a better way of getting out of the boat once I’ve driven her up on the trailer. So I went with the Trick Step ladder. Other than filing down the area between the winch tower supports for a crush block, I took about 20 minutes to install it....

Thanks, that’s really good to hear! I figured I should come up with a solution more commensurate with my age ?.

Walmart now selling gene larew baits (packaged as YUM) in their discount bins. $1.95 a pack. Needless to say I've hit up every walmart in a 10 mile radius. Scored biffle bugs, hammer craws, punch outs, and (my favorite) hoodaddys.

I'm new on here so I have to ask, does someone have a "problem" when they leave specific instructions for the delivery guy to hide a package (or 6) in the bush next to the front door to avoid wife from seeing? Asking for a friend.

I would say the only problem your friend has is when the wife figures out what the delivery guy is up to!  ?  I take the wife to the tackle store with me and she is the one to grab the shopping basket, I don't grab one for a reason!  haha  When that happens we both know bad things are going to happen.?

My wife, uh I mean "my friend's wife" usually catches on quick. Which is why I have  a cycle of so called "jedi mind tricks" that I will rotate through. For example, I learned LONNNNNNG ago to never lead with how much was spent, but how much was saved.

"honey, you wont believe it. I just got an Abu Garcia premier for 50% off"...... She usually takes that better than "I spent $150 on another fishing reel." Heck, one time I was even met with "you'd be stupid if you didn't buy that."
