I went to Cabelas today to look at some clothing.  I wasn't buying any tackle...

It all went downhill when I saw the Dark Sleepers.  I heard so many mentions of them so I thought I would try a few out...then remember I "needed" an ice rod for my Black Betty Freefall I got over the summer.  Sigh

Witch Doctor rods cast a spell on me. Didn't need the 3 I bought but love them and will probably buy more!

How do I know if a lure works if I don't get a variety of sizes and colors?  Lol

Ya I loaded up on Blacks, Blues, P&J Trailers for my jigs and finesse worms last week. We have had so much rain and one cold front after another here. It's been tough for weeks. Picked up 2 suspended jerks as well.

I bought the Pink and Orange just to swap the tips on my darker senkos.

I bought some sale items from Outlet Bait & Tackle last week. Got some deeply discounted Sizmic grubs and shad and some other stuff and more spinnerbaits, but the very best deal was 4 bags of 4.25" Yum Bad Mamma baits in my favorite Black Blue Flake. Each bag was 64 cents.

This week they're back to the usual barely discounted price of $3.29. 64 cents. Why didn't I buy more? What was I thinking?

Going to try these blade baits out, but needed to upgrade the flimsy hardware.

And so it begins - having gotten my 'Yule Gift' early, I've already started this year's purchase spree. Just a few items when I found out

A: Banshees are only carried at DSG

and

B: They had a 15% off sale

Line is for my Avocet - better visibility for the finesse techniques.

Buying dark sleepers on-site is never a bad idea.

I have been saving for awhile to purchase the Lew's Pro TI Once I got enough saved to purchase the reel at full retail price of $349 I started shopping around. I found the right handed reel at a

website called the North Adventure for $234 That's the lowest price I have ever seen the Pro TI for. I called Dick's customer service line for a price match. It took over half an hour as the rep I was speaking to needed manager

approval for a price match of that amount. DSG matched the price and I submitted the order last Friday. The shipping was free and the reel arrived the next day. It really is a beautiful reel.

I feel like putting it on a display shelf. It actually is on display right now as the season is over here until spring 2020

With the money I saved I am looking at getting a rod to go with it. I have narrowed it down to the St Croix Mojo Bass or the Lew's TP1 black. Both rods are $129 full retail price. I am waiting to see what kind

of deal I can get on black Friday on these rods.

Thanks. I bought it with squirreled away mad money. To many real life issues needed my attention (new water heater, car repair and new tires) to be able to buy it without saving.

I don't know if you want a rod for crankbaits but St. Croix will have select Mojo and Premier Glass rods for 40% off on December 6th.

I've crunched my numbers - if I don't get the Mojo, then I have to back down to something like a Tatula-XT

Thanks for the heads up! I do have a dedicated crankbait rod but I could always use another.

The Monkey bait is on my back ---- St. Croix will be having this sale ? if so, I just need a topwater mojo :)
