Super User NYWayfarer Posted October 15, 2019 Super User Posted October 15, 2019 Checked my arsenal and realized I am sorely lacking in the size 200 spinning reel department.  Ordered the new Lew's Mach Smash MHS200 spinning reel from Sportsman's Outfitters for $41 Should be here before Friday. It will be paired with my medium light Lew's Carbon Fire rod for some in-line spinner, ned or split shot live worm rigs.  5 Quote

Someday when my kids are old enough to go with me and not tell mom about everything I buy maybe. That’s funny, my grandson loves to go to bps, it’s a cool store for a kid. I’ve learned to make solo trips when I want to really load up. Quote
JediAmoeba Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Have my Tatula Elite Rod (7' ml) and a Tatula LT 3000-CXH ready to roll with 15# braid and a 10' fluoro leader! Really excited to use this for some ned rigging and drop shotting.   I have loads of higher end casting combos but this is the first Spinning combo I have spent more than 200 dollars on.... 9 Quote

FishinBuck07 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Just came home with a Dobyns Fury 705 CB rod, a couple Berkley squarebills and line for the new setup! Needed the rod to go with my new Lew's tournament MB reel 2 Quote

That Shine Glide is the good stuff IMO. I've had much more expensive baits, but those things flat out get bit and I'm not afraid to put it were it needs to be.  On 10/14/2019 at 9:23 AM, fishballer06 said: What's the color name of that middle jerkbait? And the wind, don't get me started. I have to aim for the middle of the tullies to maybe get in the strike zone, the wind grabs these things and does what it wants.  I need a boat! Quote
Dangerfield Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Prepping for some 40 degree weather this weekend and needed a reload of some finesse stuff. I couldn't pass up on the Cabela's Guide wear gloves, they're not the thickest but I can thumb a baitcaster comfortably without my whole hand being exposed - underrated bait monkeying business. That lunkerhunt dock spider looks like the real deal, 1/4oz semi light wire hook, a little thinner than a dark sleeper. A little shake of the wrist and all those legs shimmy shimmy yaaaa. 8 Quote

It’ll help you get over that fear. On the plus side it’s easy to find another if need be. 1 Quote

Underspins, swimbait heads, weighted wacky hooks. The original Fusion hooks are stupid sharp. I think it's about time to snag a few. 1 Quote

A pricey purchase for what they are, they keep the wind contact to a minimum. The grip on the palm and fingers keeps you connected to your reel instead of slipping. Not the warmest, I'm concerned the stitching and snaps might be the first to wear down. 1 Quote
jr231 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 I've had mine for a couple years and use them when I shovel the driveway and stuff too. So far so good. 1 Quote

DanielG Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 My latest acquisitions. Can you guess what endeavor I'm about to embark on? (It may be more like an effort in futility!) It's going to be a long, non fishing winter here in Maine.  Two part epoxy opaque, transparent, pearl, acrylic paint Iwata airbrush .038 stainless wire CA glue Rotisserie motor And a few other incidentals.... Totaled, basically the equivalent cost of a bunch of baits. 3 Quote
Coonedawg Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019  Me and a buddy bought 4 Dobyns Sierra rods for $38 each and 4 Mitchell spinning reels for $10 each. My local academy had a 75% off clearance sell on any price that ended with a *7cent. I was thrilled to find them. 11 Quote
