Reposting this in the correct place!  Sorry for the confusion.

I got a couple Dark Sleepers last fall and developed a lot of confidence in them this spring fishing Lake St. Clair with its large goby population.

These are knock off Dark Sleepers from Ali Express.  I thought for the price they were worth a try, at least.  The quality seems decent although definitely not as nice as the genuine MB lures.  But with the MB being sold out most places and hard to come by, these will have to do.  I didn't want to have to go all spring/summer without these as an option!

A box of classics that made a detour to our old house. Thankfully, the new owners are honest enough to try to find out who they belonged to and they eventually made it to me.

The bait monkey was feeling a little generous today.  A co worker stopped to grab a rod that was laying on the road pass some train tracks that everyone was driving around.  A 7'10" Quantum Tour KVD cranking setup is the bonus for being known as the guy who fishes.  A little road rash on the butt and reel but functionally sound.

Pretty good idea to which lake it was heading to so I plan on spending some time on fbook and will swing by the nearest tackle shop to see if the owner is looking for it.

Good on you at looking for the owner. Maybe you'll be rewarded with a new combo.

The new zman spinnerbaits have really been crushing it. I’ve only had them for two days but they’ve caught allot of fish from the banks. Thanks to the how long do you let your baits sit thread I’ve been doing really well with jigs also.

The reel monkey, who is the lesser known older brother of the bait monkey, visited and provided me some early Christmas presents from Japan and Malaysia. You can see a couple the noticeable differences between the Curados, as the “K” model has a bigger gear housing and longer handle. I’m really looking forward to putting them to use...

After my last trip out, I knew I needed a couple things. So a small TW order was finagled from the wife.

1) The 'super sharp' scissors I was using to cut line for re-ties wasn't cutting it (yes, I know - sue me) on the braid - so a Boomerang snip was needed.

2) My crank/jerkbaits were getting too tangled - 4 packs of Owner treble safety caps will fix that issue.

3) The 12# FC on my Trion was not working well - 1 spool of 10# Yo-Zuri should work better.

4) After seeing how well the 4# Yo-Zuri that had been treated with KVD behaved on my Pres-25 (which was a gift...yes, the treated line came with it) I decided that YES, I do need Line Conditioner - so a bottle of KVD was added.

No lures this time, just things to help me fish better and easier.

Ordered 2 Spro BBZ-1 50 Rats one in Ninja, one in Morning Dawn from TW. I'm hoping they are louder than the big Savage rat.

They're much louder. The Morning Dawn (Hippy Rat as I like to call it), is a killer color.

Picked up an 8" Bull Shad in Bone color this morning. Hoping it will be a big player this fall when they start woofing the big gizzard shad.

Great I'm glad to hear they're louder. The Savage is basically a silent bait. You'll like the 8" Bull Shad. I've got a school Bull Shads. They just flat catch fish. I look forward to long hot summer nights with the rats.

I'm looking at that exact pair. Did you get the plastic or glass lenses?

I got the plastic , I know glass is a little clearer but the extra 100$ price point wasn’t worth it.. that and shatter resistant .. if a bait comes flying back and hits you in the eye , I would rather not have shards of glass in my eye

If you went on eBay you probably could have found the glass for about the same price you paid for the plastic lenses!  I got a pair with 580G for $160.

Yeah that’s how much the plastic ones were ... I don’t use eBay much but I’ll  have to check next time
