Trappernewt Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Bought a St. Croix Avid X 6'8 M and a Shimano Stradic Ci4 for a Senko setup. American Legacy Fishing also had the Shimano SLX casting combos for $139 with free shipping so I got a 7'2 medium with a 7.3:1 reel.  2 Quote
gilkeybr Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Just got this Aldebaran 30. Started off pairing it with my small JB rod (ML/Mod-Fast). This thing will really launch 3/8oz jerkbaits. Its also extremely light. Excited to get more experience with it.  10 Quote
Ksam1234 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 I think I have a problem.. been working lots of overtime and got my paycheck in.. not good lol. But hey now I can use true finesse techniques ! My ALX zolo rod comes in tomorrow along with my new fishing kayak ! Can’t wait to go out. 10 Quote
Ksam1234 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Beautiful new rod came in ! ALX ZOLO trickster. I have to say this thing feels amazing. Lightweight , super sensitive , the guides are perfect, the design , all of it! I wish I would have known about these long ago and thank @WRB for telling me about them. Can’t wait to try it out but they sure didn’t disappoint. I talk to Alex himself and he spent 10 minutes talking to me and was very knowledgeable about everything.  They packaged it super well so there was no way it would be damaged ! Super customer service , now let’s go fish. 7 1 Quote

Super User Cgolf Posted May 11, 2019 Super User Posted May 11, 2019 I picked up a few tubes of scented a baby creek chub lure. Haven’t noticed @whitwolf around in a while, but curious about the Rebel lures I found today. Says 80s on the package and they have a graphite line tie. The creek chub and Rebels I got for 7 at an estate sale. 3 Quote

HoosierFisher Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Went to Academy and Dick's to check out kayaks. Ended up with a Magellan branded kayak PFD for $40 and two Whopper Ploppers 110s for $9.99 each plus 10% first responder discount. Still on the hunt for a kayak. Think I'm just going to save for a NuCanoe. Buy once cry once. 1 Quote

As far as I know they are sold through Carolina Crankbaits but when they are released they are gone within minutes. I don't do facebook but the maker, Catching Concepts, has a facebook page, he might sell some through that also, not sure. These are very highly sought-after baits and don't last long. Quote

I was gonna wait until I used up some of my dropshot bait supply before ordering but the monkey talked me out of that plan 5 Quote

I didn't get in on that one but he's trying to mix things up a little. It's crazy how fast they go. Quote

RichF Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Not technically a purchase or even tackle, but still pretty freakin cool! A close friend of my wife has a brother in law that works for CBS. He gets all kind of gifts and swag from different shows. His wife sent me some crazy stuff from MLF! Signed jersey and hat from KVD and a signed hat from Edwin Evers! Fantastic mancave additions! 12 Quote
Johnbt Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 I can't help myself when I see War Eagle copper blades for sale. And chartreuse skirts are a favorite, of mine and the fish. Too bad there were only 5.    5 Quote
Super User PhishLI Posted May 16, 2019 Super User Posted May 16, 2019 The Pickerel around here keep retiring my dark sleepers so I stocked up. These Beast Coast Miyagi Swimmers caught my eye. Grabbed a pack in Pro Ghost Alewife. The locals pronounce Alewife "El-why". We have a few lakes with them where they're spawning, so I have high hopes. The Dope Gill looks dope. Hitch patterns get bit so I had to have those too. 7 Quote
Johnbt Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Well, I previously posted a pic of 5 new War Eagle copper spinnerbaits.  Then I was paid another visit by the monkey. He whispered in my ear, "Buy more copper blades, they're discontinued. Get more of the clear copper peach skirts. And different sizes, too."   Then the little beggar stole my credit card and went wild.   But then he started ordering new outfits. You can't trust the bait monkey !!!!!!!  7 7 Quote
