CrankFate Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 I always hated the guys that post this huge bunch of tackle they just bought, thinking, what are these guys collectors? Are they trying to open a tackle shop? Who needs to buy all that crap in one trip to the store. Then for the first time ever, I decided to take a picture of my last few weeks worth of tackle purchases. d**n. I didn’t know I was one of those guys. But no, I did not buy these all in one trip. I ordered a few here and there. Made a stop here or there...... Basically adds up to the same thing. 8 Quote

Not to mention the canoe mods and the new trailer. 2 Quote
Smelter96 Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Cabelas near me had this in the bargain cave for $99! No idea why the tag says used, its brand new. Figured my old man could use a new reel, so fathers day is coming early for him this year. 6 Quote
JLindsey Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 The bait monkey is out for blood. I bought my first baitcasting outfit the other day (a MH/F Lew’s Mach I Speed Spool combo), spooled it with 14lb mono, and took it out and got comfortable with it. Being able to cast it without backlashing got me real excited and eager to try some more new stuff out. I went back to Dick’s after I got done fishing last night and bought an Abu Garcia Vengeance paired with an Abu Ultra Max, which I spooled with 40lb PowerPro. Now I need some new stuff to throw on these, don’t I? I picked some stuff up in Dick’s and hit Walmart on the way home. Keitech 3.8” Swing Impact FAT in bluegill flash 2 packs each of VMC Swimbait Heads in 1/4 and 1/8oz 2 bargain bin Yo-Zuri 95F Minnow jerkbaits 4 cheapo Jawbone spinnerbaits a mess of clearance Cotton Cordell Spots and Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps in various colors and sizes a handful of 3” Creme Spoiler Shad prerigged swimbaits in various colors Then there’s the Tackle Warehouse order I placed - a Berkley Big Game lip gripper/scale for handling toothy critters, a mess of Rapala X-Raps and floaters, some Rebel Pop-Rs, some Beast Coast swimbaits, a Berkley Choppo, and some Plano boxes. I’ve been doing a lot of crappie fishing lately too, and I feel silly using the 4’6” Shakespeare rod I keep in the car, so I also bought a 6’ Quantum Xtralite combo and a mess of small jigheads, grubs, tubes and tiny Creme swimbaits. Can you tell I’m REAL excited this season? 4 Quote
Sphynx Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Bait monkey brought me some gifts. 3x each of 6th Sense Divine Hybrid Jig in 3/8 and 1/2 oz sizes, few chatterbaits, and some paca chunks, eventually want to pick up a few more in the 3/4oz size 6 Quote
Harold Scoggins Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Time to get out the skirt material and put the vise to work, Thanks Mike @Siebert Outdoors. 4 1 Quote

Great action. Especially when they stop moving. Quote

Best thing about netbait craws is I can pick them up at Walmart. Bite off the back half of the body and, tada, got a chunk. They work as well as most and are affordable, what's not to like? 1 Quote

Most smaller baits don’t flutter enough. They were just soft enough to get that bigger bait flutter in a small craw. 1 Quote

I've found a few craws I like as trailers, biospawn vilecraws work ok, rage craws etc. Trouble is those baits don't really qualify as affordable to me. I love tossing a jig around cover in new water, but I prefer to use arkie jigs and cheap trailers until I learn what I'm working with. Then I can switch over to my baits that I feel I work best to focus on getting bit. Quote

I hate sacrificing things like tungsten and expensive plastics to the water Gods. 1 Quote

txchaser Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 No pic but a BPS and a TW box today Long-since backordered from TW -livetarget hollow body craw in reddish and brownish (I don't really need these now, but WTH I'll see how they do. I've had really good results with the small craw from okuma and the zman TRD craw. Which is all totally in conflict with the research about vague cylinders getting more strikes than complete craws. /shrugs) -Weedless neko hooks I don't need because I forgot about the backorder and bought some elsewhere. Still haven't gotten around to a neko rig, so I guess i have a few years of neko hooks now -(random?) sungill ultravibe speed worm, because I definitely need more almost the same but not quite the same worms BPS -KVD worm file to try as an alternative to bps binder -3" and 4" sunfish swimbait (softbody) from livetarget. The yellow 3" caught me a lot of quality fish recently when other stuff got small fish or nothing at all. The original lives in a bush now; wife bought it for me after she heard about what was hitting the 4" gill I had from Savage gear. But it has trebles and gets caught a lot. So it was a mission to catch some fish on it, because supporting that kind of behavior (buying me tackle) is a good choice. Turns out it was actually pretty dang good. - couple of megabass dark sleepers in 1/4 oz - Tokyo rig to try out on the mucky-bottom ponds and city lakes - v2 columbia cooling neck gaiter - yamamoto cowboy in watermelon red, because I (don't) need more jig trailers - some paca chunks in three colors because the creature bag definitely isn't jammed so full the zipper is tight, so I have work to do 4 Quote
Mbirdsley Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Hoping these are my last major purchases for a while. Realized I didn’t really have a finesse rod. everything I had currently was way to big. So I sold stuff I have not used it forever and bought a dobyns 7ft m/l colt rod. Also bought a Okuma cemar-30 to put on it. The rod is nice for the money. That reel seems really like a steal for 40 bucks. I’m impressed. If I hadn’t bought that I would have put a Pflueger president reel on it. also won a auction for 50 swim baits ( kinda forgot about it actually untill the guy told me I won) so I have 50 of them In Houdini, perch, and black and blue flake. They seem good quality. These wil go with the kietechs I bought on the same day Swim baits 7 Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted April 4, 2019 Super User Posted April 4, 2019 I am weak - wife gave me a 'budget' for the BR-MN get together that was held earlier this eve. Since I only spent a little over half of it at The Local, I stopped by my local baitshop and spent the rest 3 Strike King Swim Jigs in 1/4 oz 2 Strike King Slither Rig weights in 1/2 oz Pack of size 1 Finesse hooks Senko ring tool "Somebody Stop Me!" 3 2 Quote

I have one of the Squelchers too, caught some fish on it last fall. Quote
