Picked myself a Kistler  6’9” crank rip twitch today as I figured I needed a new rod jerkbaits and walking baits. Then through some more searching found a great deal on a Tatula sv to pair with it. Can’t wait to get these in the mail later this week.

What do you guys think I should spool up the reel with, braid or mono?

Definitely mono if you also plan on fishing any top water with it.

Those look stunning! I never considered buying a Powell, but now I have yet another contender on my big list of rods I want.

I've got a couple of older Powell Max rods and they have never failed me. Good rods.

How do you think the Endurance rods compare to the Max rods? I love the looks of the Endurance, but in the end performance will be the main reason for for purchasing.

I've never used the Endurance, the Max rods I use are still going strong, 10 years now, and I haven't seen a need to replace them. I don't think you would be disappointed with any Powell rod, especially the Endurance.

OK, I just finished reading the reviews on this rod. Other than one person not liking the color, (he couldn't find fault with it's performance) everyone liked the Endurance. I didn't know that it came in an 8 ft Mag Hvy … I might have to pull the trigger on this rod myself.

I'm gonna be waiting for black Friday sales before I pull the trigger on any rod. That gives me plenty of time for me to drive myself crazy with rod options.

Major purchase today. I've got all kinds of split ring pliers, but those small split rings have been giving me a hard time lately. Saw a guy using these on YT, so I decided to pull the trigger...$7.35. Could have gone cheaper, but these are made of stainless steel.

Search Amazon for split ring tweezers, you'll see 4-5 options come up.

Found these at a Scheels today for 7 a piece. Anyone know anything about the real vibe? Never seen or heard of it.

Don't know anything about the vib but that Gunnish in Archer Bee is a fish catching machine.

How are you painting the blades? I tried powder paint but it was a disaster with the amount of paint on them.

Allen

Powder paint gun and being really careful not to overheat the blade. If it gets too hot, too much paint sticks to it and ruins the action the blade. Usually about 4-6 seconds over the heat gun will do the trick.

I’m a fan of Old Lake Customs out of North Carolina. Cory is in Guntersville this weekend and I spent my allowance on some of his baits:

I have 2 of the 806 endurance punch rods and they're awesome! They weigh under 5oz and could probably drag Moby dick out of cover.

It was raining today, so against my better judgment I took a ride to bass pro to replace just a couple things I Lost. Ended grabbing a few of the newer Berkley stuff to try out at their price why not, we’ll see if they produce. Don’t tell you know who lol.

I must be out of my mind. I told myself not to buy anymore Daiwa and sold most of Daiwas I have. I end up with this darn beautiful thing.

When Shimano is gonna realize that we need some colorful reels too, not just classic silver, gun metal and black reel. I promise no more Daiwa,

Ok so, good week for the tackle box bad week for the wallet. My buddy asked me to take the ride to bass pro with him when I was already there once this week. And again against my judgment I went. Two trips in one week is bad for the wallet lol. I have to admit the rat was a impulse.

There were a ton of pretty nice ones on ebay from Japanese sellers over the last few months.  I got a maybe C+/B- one for like a hundred bucks this past spring.  The yen has picked back up a little bit, but it's still low enough to make used reels from japan very attractive.
