Lincoln Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 One of my most recent purchases was a handful of war eagle spinnerbaits, and on Wednesday it paid off with my best fish of the year so far at 3 lbs and 15 oz 4 Quote
Dangerfield Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 FYI, River2Seas website has some closeouts on a couple of their baits: Bully Wa (3 colours - $6 each), Bubble Walker (1 colour - $6 each) and Biggie square bill (2 sizes, multiple colours $6 each). If I hadn't just bought a ton of plastics and jigs last week, I'd be all over those sq. bills and frogs. 1 1 Quote
Ksam1234 Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 The Labor Day sale got me.. crankbaits and chatterbaits ? I hope these zakos look good, I usually use keitechs only but heard zako produce well. 6 Quote

Derek1 Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Went to bass pro today to get a jackhammer and a whopper plopper75. No wp’s and I got the last jackhammers In the store a different color then I wanted.they didn’t have anything I wanted so I only spent $62 lol. I’m not bashing them in any way. plenty happy with what I got. I was just so looking forward to this 40 minute trip eachway all week for them. This is what I got a few new toys. 5 Quote
Big Rick Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 I've got a box full of bladed jigs and the Jackhammer is WORTH THE PRICE.  It's just something about how the blade strikes the head and the fit and finish of the whole thing. You'll be glad you spent the extra, I'm thinking. And the Zako is perfect for a trailer as well. Just enough action to attract a fish but not too much to kill the action. Good choices.  Oh yeah, that crank bait looks a lot like a Rapala Brat instead of a BP XP brand. Which is it? Quote
Dirtyeggroll Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Restocked my @Siebert Outdoors blue Craw dock rocker supply after I have been giving them to my buddies to try. I added on a random jig pack and got some interesting stuff to try. Got some hokey looking swimbait in the mail (not from Siebert. They all just arrived on the same day). 6 1 Quote
MichaelCopeland Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Picked up a pack of black 3/16oz H2O Express tungsten bullet weights and a pack of sapphire blue Zoom Z Craws today after work. Put in an order to @Siebert Outdoors Friday. Eagerly awaiting its arrival. The sapphire blue Z Craws were the only thing in that color I could find that should be a good trailer for some of my Siebert order. Really would like to find any kind of craw and swimbait in tequila sunrise and plum/plum apple/plum crazy or any other plum variation. Those colors have been pretty good to me lately. ? 3 Quote

Derek1 Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Yeah I was bummed, more about the Chatterbait though. I got the last one in the store. All the other colors were out of stock for a while according to the tags on the shelf. One of the workers said he’s never seen the wp’s and had no idea when they were gonna get them. The dicks near me doesn’t have them in stock either. I still love the store itself. I just really wanted those two things. Quote

As for travel rods, I've ditched most of the others in favor of five Bone Voyages and one Combat Beast, the 6'3" BFS will complete the collection. It will be hard to cut the cord from dragging around a seven foot plus rod tube but so much easier. 1 Quote

The reels are Quantum EXO PT 200's - Pretty sure they are no longer in production but can sometimes be found on amazon & ebay. Work well for me hunting over-sized green bass south of the border as they have the capacity to hold a decent amount of 20 & 25 lb mono / fluorocarbon or 50 - 65lb braid.  100 & 150 size reels are just too small to allow for the distance casts I need to make.  The stock handle have all been replaced with HawgTech after market jobs. Super Sweet ! That company owner has been a bass resource member ( @South FLA ) for over 10 years and is a Site sponsor as well. Super good guy and great to work with. Check him out . . . https://www.hawgtech.com/ A-Jay  1 Quote

Just wish they were a bit  more affordable, atleast now I know what I want for Christmas! ?? Quote
DanTheFireman Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Thanks A-Jay! I'm in Palm Beach right near Mike at Hawgtech, have a few of his handles. My TranX 400 would occasionally kick into gear on a hard cast with the power handle if not paying attention to handle position, the Hawg handle cured that. Quote

I switched out that power handle on my Tranx 300 HG to the Double paddle version for that very reason. A-Jay Quote

kykayak Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Going to try out the new Abu Garcia Revo IKE reel. I think I'm really going to like the handle on this thing. 9 Quote

That huge handle with the EVA knobs is a nice touch. Quote
