The wife went and spent $300 at Dicks on new shoes and workout clothes. She got home and handed me $20 in Dicks cash to make up for it LOL. So I put it to good use getting ready for that fall bite.

Here's the difference between a married man and a single man (me).

After reading GReb's post, I'm thinking "so she gets to spend $300, and you get a free $20 coupon, and that's fair? What kind of deal is THAT"?

Then Burke, who I'm also assuming must be married, replies with "awesome wife".

Pretty sure I'll never be married. ?

Ditto. I am only 23, but all my friends are married or engaged at this point and they have to fight tooth and nail to even get out with me, let alone buy tackle. Yet their wives are buying shoes they'll never wear, Yeti tumblers they don't need, and $80 to get their hair and nails done ever other week. I can't fathom that.

My past 2 serious girlfriends left me because I spend more time on the water than with them. I get it, but I am not the kind of person to spend a lot of time with a girl if it comes between fishing or hockey. It'd be instantly game over if one ever had a problem with me spending my hard earned cash on tackle. Guess I've just never been inlove.

But I gotta say, I'm digging the single life a lot more than being with someone. I answer to no one. I fish 5-6 days a week, and play hockey the other days. I am home for maybe a few hours a day, and I work third shift. I feel I am living the dream but all my friends ask when I'm gonna settle down. Uh, not any time soon haha.

I was thinking that too. Until I realized that the DSG deal was $20 Dick's cash for every $100 spent....so shoulda been $60 Dick's cash (at least $40 if he rounded up to $300). Either way, free lures is cool.

I knew I was cheated!

It’s not so bad. We split the mortgage and bills.  We keep separate accounts and spend the rest on whatever we like. I pay for my truck and hobbies. She pays for her $200 hair cuts and clothes. If I go fishing in the morning she’s happy to get the chance to sleep in. In the evening she goes fishing too. And sometimes out fishes me

Now I expect this to abruptly change whenever we have kids lol

You are correct. I had the same situation.

One thing I st for you and more for Brew City, since he is at the most risk of the most drastic lifestyle change...don't think that if there are parts of your free time that you will EVER get back if you begin to concede or give it up. In fact, if you have something that is a regular deal and you say you can skip it "this one time"...ha, ha...that's it! Bye bye, hockey (for instance)!

The slippery part of this is that it requires you to have discipline and fish or play hockey or workout or whatever it is, even when you REALLY don't feel like it. Sometimes it's more convenient to just stay home...but that is the sinister side of the trap. It's way harder than it sounds! But in the bright side, if you always remain diligent, it rarely becomes a question of whether you will be losing all your free time or not. In fact, there may be very little argument at all!

Good luck!

Nice! @Siebert Outdoors really digging the packaging! ?

I love Siebert jigs. I like to tie my own skirts and I've been using the Dredge jigs for a few years now, sharpest hooks out there.

I been hitting my local Walmart's and getting in the Yum $1.96 box and been getting all the dingers/senkos. I have found some awesome colors. One of my favorite finds was a cameo color.

had a gift card to use

You like those Diamantes I see, just used one for the first time yesterday and it has a very unique walking action unlike any bait I have used. Was thinking about ordering a few more from cabelas.

Been working alot lately and still gotta lot more hours to do. We got inventory coming up. Yay! Not! Lol! Hoping to get out for a couple hours or so this evening to try these new baits out. ?

Thanks to this site...I found Siebert Outdoors (if you haven't looked or noticed, the link is below)...several people in here have posted that they like their jigs. So, I took a look and promptly went on a little spree.

They've got a good color selection and have colors that, for me, were just different enough from what "everyone else" was offering. I like chatterbaits and swim jigs and I'd convinced myself that I had plenty until I saw theirs.

Bought a few new rods and reels earlier this week, along with some graphs, still waiting on the Tatula LT spinning reels for the two spinning rods to come in, got them for a awesome deal, I'm super cheap and they were $100 bucks each for both during a Labor Day sale I couldn't resist.

They were actually 110 each to be exact, Fleabay had them for 138 then with an additional 20 or 25% off coupon I forgot which, they were 110 shipped.
