I'd be all over that sale if either Academy by me carried the jerk shad. The crack color (white/silver/chart belly), is a smallmouth killer and it doesn't hurt when the razor clams steal them from me.

I picked up half a dozen KVD crankbaits this last week. A 1.5 and 2.5, two 3, and two 5.

I must be lucky. Accidents like that rarely happen to me.

You notice he didn't return them to the racks they were on. I bet they didn't let him have them free. I least it wasn't an expensive accident.

The recent "The five best bass lures" segment by @Glenn and Hank Parker had me thinking I should replace the spinner lost last fall due to a weak knot. So I did. Blame Glenn & Hank for that but the fact that I now want a add a finesse spinner... well that's purely the bait monkey's fault.

But when they fall into my basket every week, it starts to get expensive.  These tackle shops should really invest in better racks.

I wonder if the fish he catches on them will be considered an accident?

Took advantage of a 20% off discount on ebay and ordered me a Lews Team Lite:

I was looking for a sub 6oz, bellow 200€, reel to put on my small paddle tail swimbaits/grubs rod. Was a little divided between the Lews and one Okuma Helios Air, in the end the 20% off and external adjustable brakes made me go with the Team Lite...

Snagged some items on clearance from a local shop that is getting out of fishing. It really saddens me as this shop carried some quality tackle.

Before I left work yesterday, I picked up a 1/2oz dark green pumpkin Project Z chatterbait, a pack of Owner 3/32oz 6/O wide gap twist lock hooks, a pack of red shad Zoom Ol' Monsters and a pack of Gene Larew green pumpkin/chartreuse pepper Biffle Bugs. I'm off tomorrow and plan on catching some bass with at least one of those. Hopefully all of them. ?

How does this perform compared to a plopper?

I found some gràpe with red glitter zoom worms.  They don't sell them everywhere.  A couple years ago I got my PB on that color.  Could not resist.  Shipping was as much as a pack of worms!

Finally gonna try some flourocarbon and 100% at that. Picked up some 17lb Berkley Vanish and a pack of 7/16oz bluegill color Storm Wildeye Swim Shads. Already got a rod spoiled up with 40lb Sufix 832 backing and one of the new Wildeye Swim Shade tied on. Supposed to be trying a new lake either tomorrow or the next day. Can't wait to see if there's any big bass in there. ?

Been getting caught up in the old hype of the original Bass Pro Shops XPS Swimmer. Of course, it’s no longer in production, hard to find and expensive. There is a copy called “The Babe” sold on Tackle Freaks that is currently out of stock, so per the suggestion of @Bluebasser86 I picked up some Optimum Boom Boom 6” Swimbaits (I picked up both pre-rigged as shown in the picture and some weedless that are not shown) and some 8/0 Owner Beast Swimbait hooks. 31CC6A7E-93A2-4BAC-B502-C65767059A8A.thumb.jpeg.51cbef1914f1c49f48bfc86220b6a14b.jpegI plan on throwing these in one lake that is way overpopulated with stunted crappie but has a decent population of 5-7 lb bass and in another lake that the bass can’t resist a bluegill or sunfish colored squarebill.

Can't say that I've noticed a huge difference, but I haven't fished it enough to give it a real review yet. This is a 100 size, so in between a 90 and 110 plopper but they aren't as tall as a plopper (at least this size isn't). I do think that maybe the fins tend to act as keels and rudders and help prevent it from rolling like a plopper wants to do as times.

Shown with a 110 and 130 for scale

No automatic alt text available.

I can confirm that it does catch fish though. Looking forward to trying some of the larger sizes and seeing if they offer and different colors to the US than what is currently available overseas.

Savage Gear Smashtail, pretty tough to come by right now. I ordered my off Ebay from across the pond when they were released over there first. You can preorder on TW right now, few days before they're supposed to come out still

Due to my recent killing spree (broke 5 rods in the last month), I needed a new frog rod, and was staying less than 15 minutes from the Cabela's in Berlin, MA. I ended up purchasing the Cabela's Tournament ZX 7'3" Heavy Frog Rod. Rod has been great so far, even though it has a fast action, not extra fast. I also purchased a Whopper Plopper 110 with a missing eye in the Bargain Cave for $4.99. I purchased 12 1/4 ozEco Pro Tungsten drop shot weights (super expensive, but required up north) and a few packs of drop shot hooks, drop shot baits, and Keitechs. Also purchased a few frogs, and an MKA-21 Quick Release Bracket for my new trolling motor. I also got to look at some of the Garmin units that I am looking at, along with a comparison of the Ulterra and Terrova 112. The other thing that Im really liking is the Cable Cuff that Bought at Ocean State Job Lot for $1. They allow me to use my electric steer up front without a mess of cables and undo the cuff when I am fishing with the foot pedal from the back of the boat. I also Boat Buckle transom mount boat buckles or something name liked that from the same store for $25. Saw something that looked almost the same for $85 so I went back and bought them. That store also had cheaper Reddington waders for $20 that I dod not buy.
