MichaelCopeland Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Got me a Strike King 7/16oz midnight special spinnerbait and a Z-Man 3/8oz chatter bait black and blue today at Wally World. I've never owned a chatter bait. Hoping to get to try it out soon. 4 Quote

Chose to buy my first chatter bait instead. Gonna try it out tomorrow. Quote
bh91 Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 They work pretty well but the quality control sorta sucks at times ..Same with the powerbait versions .. than again a lot of baits work well  Forgot to post my favorite purchase today   580g green mirror with a great fit compared to the steel and cheap ones I got before  2 Quote
MDBowHunter Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 A very solid acquisition for my swimbait game!!!! 5 Quote

finatic Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Been hearing a lot about paddle tails so tonight at work after I punched out I wandered into the fishing section and saw these Lunkerhunt swim bentos. I grabbed a pack of the minnows. Going to try them out in the morning  5 Quote
finatic Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 After using the Lunkerhunt swim bentos this morning I'm back to report they are a wash. It doesn't swim very well (not like some other decent paddle tails you can buy) and the eyes keep falling off. Didn't have any bites, didn't smack them or anything, and the eyes fell off both of the lures. Also there seems to be something inside the head of them that kind of bunches up when you're trying to rig them on the hook.  Just thought I would give you guys a heads up so you don't waste your money on this crap. 3 Quote

I've caught quite a few spawning bass with them on a dropshot. The ones I'm referring to are the smaller minnow sizes. Quote

finatic Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Took those Lunkercrap things back then went to Dick's. Guy there said these Keitech brand paddle tails were a higher quality so I got a pack of those... Â Â Thought I'd try my hand at some spinner baits so I grabbed a couple Strike King KVDs (Tandem Willow, chartreuse and fire tiger) and a Banshee orange belly craw. Â I have tomorrow off so I'm going to try these guys out. Hopefully I'll return with some pics of the lunkers I catch 3 Quote

After trying them I must say I'm really impressed. They have a great action on the fall, I think I have a new favorite jig trailer. Quote

Super User bigbill Posted August 29, 2017 Super User Posted August 29, 2017 I perfer the YUM Money minnows still. Â Bomber cranks are my number one choice. Norman thin N's are good too. Â my bait monkey has bit me hard I'm buying up what was stolen from me. That bites but its reality. I did have some stuff I can't replace. Quote
boostr Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Ordered a bunch of different colored skirt material from Fishing Skirts and painted jig heads from Barlow's to start building my own Jigs. I go thru way to many of them not too. Plus I don't want to have to wait when I order new ones and I save a little as well in the long run. Now I can have instant gratification if its just for one jig or five. @Siebert Outdoors and @Bluebasser86 have been my motivators to get on this. 1 Quote

finatic Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 I'm here to report that the Keitech paddle tails are awesome. They have great swim action and actually catch fish....   The spinners are great also, but they are a bit heavy. May have to upgrade the rod to something stiffer with more of a backbone. Different reel? Not sure on that one, but perhaps a stronger pole would make using these spinners easier. With my current setup reeling the spinners in makes it feel lime I'm reeling in a concrete block, lol 2 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted August 30, 2017 Super User Posted August 30, 2017 I've been fishing blind up front since I upgraded to a nicer boat a couple years ago and figured it was time...   8 Quote
