Love the Hack Attack Heavy Cover swim jigs and always have at least one rod on the deck ready to go, usually two.  Been doing exceptionally well on one with rattles lately, but could not figure out where I got it.  Discovered it is the KVD version, same jig plus rattles.  BPS exclusive, so I just ordered a bunch when they had free shipping.

Next project- more frogs.  Missouri seems to be at peak frogging season right now and I need some back ups.....

Well I got some boat stuff. Tried some new size 27 batteries which didn't fit and had to return them and pick up a pair of 24s in a town that had a Gander that was closing. Got the batteries and fire extinguisher (mine was on its last year of service) at Menards.

The ugly stick GX2 I am really excited about trying, not a great deal, but a fair deal. I may try the spincast reel for one trip out for kicks, then it will get my Daiwa Viento on it which should balance it out nicely. It's a 5' 6" medium action which was exactly what I was looking for. Curious to see if the GX2s are as solid and bulletproof as my other uglies.

Want to comment on the Gander sale, it was at 20 percent off for tackle and one example I will give is the Rage Menace marked at 6, so would have been slightly cheaper than the TW and others normal prices. Really no good deals, so I was surprised to see a lot sold. Guess some thought that sale meant good prices. We did however get a great deal on some performance polos for work, so some things were priced to sell.

Are you ever able to use all of your gear? I am only 43 and I am starting to slow down buying, because I have bags of stuff and cranks I never use now lol. I did learn the hard way though to not give a lot away, because now many years later I go to look for a certain bait only to realize I gave it away and it has been out of production for a while. This year I am trying to use a lot of old is new stuff.

Lol, no but I try. I currently spend about 160 days on the water and once I get a boat that will increase. But yes like many of us I'm guilty of just liking to buy tackle lol. More stuff I need to try and fish, thank god I'm heading to the lake in 2hrs.

The bait monkey convinced me I needed to purchase a light setup today.  Picked up a solid tip XF Major Craft Benkei (1/64-1/4) spinning rod and Daiwa BG 1500 spinning reel.  Gotta love that exchange rate!!

That is a sharp rod, and reel of course. May I ask which site and the price of the major craft. I actually need a bait caster or spinning rod to throw 1/4oz crankbaits. I'm new to JDM rods and a lot of them like MB unless u get into heavy rods the majority of them are short. Would love to buy the MB destroyer addermine just wish it was available in something longer than 6' 11" Looking for a high end JDM spinning rod in 7' 2" to 7' 4" Med action for dropshot if anyone has any suggestions. If not then I'm gonna pick up the NRX 872S.

Lol well I just got the shipping quote for the rod from plat and it's literally more than the rod.  Will likely cancel my order and find something else.  The rod itself was a deal at around $100 but shipping DOUBLED the order.  Nope.  Nope.  Nope.

Actually pretty annoyed they'd misrepresent a transaction to such a degree.  Wasn't expecting that at all having shipped many rods from Japan and given plat's reputation.

Try Shimreels on ebay, I wanna say that they do "free shipping" by just bundling it into the cost of the rod.

I am intrestind in tying an XF ultralight rod, so if you do end up buying one please post your thoughts.

A gentleman approached me yesterday while I was tossing a Pompadour around in a local lake, and he informed me that the local Ace hardware store he works at now carries a full supply of Pompadours and Pompadour JRs (amongst their very limited selection of other tackle). Anyways, yeah, now I have a JR in the gill color.
