The bait monkey gets me pretty good around this time of year while I'm sitting here, too cold outside to fish, waiting for the water here in Michigan to thaw. Below is a list of what I have picked up the last few weeks. As you see, I've decided to join the Whopper Plopper mania.

To start I found a bunch of cheap stuff at a fishing show a few weeks ago, mostly small local bait makers.

also found a Yum Ultralight Umbrella(without blades) for $4

a pack of Strike King coffee tubes

Strike King Squadron umbrella rig kit

From TackleWarehouse:

Seaguar Red Label Fluorocarbon-10 and 20lb

4 packs Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp Wacky Rig Harness

2 packs of Strike, King Half Shells-Morning Daw and Prizm Shad

Berkley 10" Power Worm-Tequila Sunrise

2 packs of Strike King Dream Shots OPT Bold Bluegill and Pro Blue Neon

From Sieberts:

3 packs of 4-3/4 Rage Swimmers Ghost Shad, Pro Blue Red Pearl, Green Pumpkin Pearl

Moaner weighted stroker swimbait hooks

Cabelas:

Whopper Plopper 90 in Pac-man

Flashmob Jr

Order from Cabelas that is on its way:

Whopper plopper 130 in Perch

Whopper Plopper 90 in T 1000

KVD Squarebill 2.5 in Chartreuse Perch

Today at Gander Mountain:

Berkley 10" Power Worm-Motor Oil

Strike King KVD HC Flat Side 1.5 Crankbait-Chartreuse Perch

Fishhead spin 3/8oz

Pack of Gene Larew Biffle Hardheads

There's a video of a casting comparison between the met MGL, met DC and I think the 2013 met.  Kind of surprising where it ended up.  Pretty cool none the less.

Bah, I can't find the video, but the met DC ended up casting the furthest

Not surprised at all!  DC is the only way to fly.  I wish it was a thing for every company!  I'd punt a 3rd grader for a DC Zonda.

I've been holding off the bait monkey but the reel monkey is tugging on my arm. Carbontex sheet to make some drag washers and a second spool for my Cardiff came a couple days ago.

I'm going to the movies with my son this evening, can already hear the bait monkey screaming from Gander Mountain across the street from the mall... Tomorrow is my anniversary, so I have a decision to make :catchinchicken:

Did a stop in at Academy and found these on the clearance rack. I couldn't pass up Mann's baby - minus for $2.98 and Xcaliburs for $1.98.

The 2 bags of Sapphire Pit Boss I had previously ordered from Gander Mountain and picked them up while was in the area.

Nicely done I wouldn't have passed that deal up either.

I got in and out of Gander mountain last night with only a couple jointed jigs, a underspin and a package of T-stops... Since I only had ten minutes before the movie started I thought that was a good time to stop in.

Shimano Stradic FK 2500. American Legacy has the reel on sale for $139. Went ahead and ordered one as that is nice price on that reel. Going to pair it with a ALX Zolo B Maestro spinning rod which never really had a good mate for it. Should see it in a week or so and will take some photos then.

Wal-Mart had all the gammy hooks for $.75!  I bought somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 packs.

3/0, 4/0, 5/0, 3/0 weighted --  all offset ewg, some super wire (? I think)

Got a SK buzz bait for $1 (Bleeding shad), a Hackney jig for $.75.  A bunch of stuff on clearance.  A local Facebook group had a bunch of people getting the KVD 1.5 squarebills for $1, they were all out.

Looks like they are not going to carry them and have added a ton of Mustad.

Dam, would of been sweet to come across a whole peg or two of 1.5 for a buck. Would of bought every one of em and at least sold the duplicates to my buddies for 3 bucks lol. Actually whenever I fill a bag of stuff I don't want anymore I take it to the lake and give it to the kids I come across till its gone. Makes me feel good to see how excited they get. Anywho I'm on my walk and was goin to wally world when done so I will c what they got.
