Amazing how expensive this crap has become.  Everything was on sale and it still cost $160 bucks!

Cool stuff though! I fish a lot of jigs as well. Have you ever thought of buying jigheads and adding skirts?

I just broke down and bought the JDM Metanium MGL HG. the JDM spool is more shallow than the US version. Going to put braid on that and buy a deeper spool from Shimano USA.

I also received some used topwater lures from an Ebay seller in Japan.

Megabass Anthrax and Pop-x

I had that intention a few years ago.  Got all the stuff to make my own but could never find a jig head that I liked. Now that TW jacked up the price on my ATs I may have to start looking at that option again!

Stopped at a DSG checking on their Pitboss supply. Struck out on those but they had a bunch of stuff on clearance. Bought my first Pop Max ever in White Python, a Spro Rat 30, a Megabass Flap Slap, and a KVD 300 jerkbait, all on clearance.

I have never seen the Spro Rat on sale before. I'll have to check at my DSG.

It was just the one color of the 30, the chrome rat, but I've seen lots of videos of fish smashing that chrome 30 rat.

Got some 65lb 832 for topwater swimbaits at Bass Pro and a berkley line counter (should help cut spools evenly and eliminate wasted line) since I had a BPS gift card. Now I just need a spare Cardiff spool to put the braid on.

I fished the chrome 30 rat all last year. I've caught some really nice fish on it. It definitely works.

I was using a spinning rod and braid and it worked great. No fish, but it handled it well.

 berkley line counter

How well do these work?  I would love something like that, but we used to have a line counter at work for aircraft cable and never found one that worked well or for long and I guess I assumed a counter for smaller line has to be fussier.

I used it to spool up some 40lb braid and while I can't verify how accurate it is, I had roughly half a 150yd (450 feet) spool left and it measured out about 240 feet of line. I did have to tighten it down pretty good in order for the mechanism to clamp onto the braid, but from what I can tell it did pretty well.

Those Ribbit Double Take hooks are awesome. Hardly ever lose a fish with them & it's the only buzzfrog hook I use. I even use them on Horny Toads, although they are a bit finicky & it takes a bit more effort to get em to fit on the body. But they work & fit perfectly on the Ribbit Frog.

Those do look nice.  Have you tried his bladed jigs? Do the jigs have bait keepers on the hook shank for trailers?

I plan to nose hook them on a drop shot rig. I may also try fishing them on an 1/8 oz Owner ultraround finesse jig head.
