Couldn't help myself.

Went shopping for clothes with the girlfriend yesterday. Might or might not have wandered off.

My local DSG starting carrying this "Jawbone" tackle, or this is the first I have noticed it. They had spinnerbaits, frogs and jigs. They were all pretty inexpensive so I figured I would give them a try.

Keep it in your pants, sir...

Nice rig, you'll be loving it. Is that the color you wanted? In my case I wasn't sure what color I liked better, but when I saw mine in person in Blue Camo, I was like that's the color!

The only thing I've had issues with are the bungees coming out of the flush mounted rod holders. For some reason mine frayed where they come out of the rod holder. So now I have the rubber strands exposed, Also make sure the screws that secure the metal seat clamp tabs are in tight, and check them on occasion because they tend to loosen up from all that swivel action when removing the seat. I know because I lost one including the black plastic washer. Those are the only issues I've came across.

Yeah that's the color I wanted, I love lime green.  I really like the yak so far, and it's super comfy.  That said I've got to say I'm a little disappointed with the hull.  For how wide it is, it's still kind of tippy and it doesn't track very straight. I've already made myself a hand paddle for small adjustments while stopped and fishing but I will definitely be getting the rudder kit sooner than later.

I don't think its tippy at all, I've stood in mine with boat and jet ski wake coming thru with no worries of tipping over. Yeah that is the knock on it tracking wise. In all the pro reviews I read, they said it tracks good for what it is, but they do recommend getting the rudder kit for the best tracking. I don't really have an issue with it because this is the only yak I've been in and owned so I wouldn't know what good tracking smells like...

Yeah I'm still happy with it, I just want perfection haha...  For someone who is as specific as I am, dialing is always going to be required.

Check out the hand paddle!  Left it a little long but I can trim it down if I want.  Used a wide-palm bike handle bar grip, sacrificed a metal broom handle for the shaft and cut the paddle out of sheet stock.  Threw a few tacks on to hold her together, sealed it with JB and slapped down a layer of paint so it looked a little less ghetto.

My Explorer is much higher, and I don't have J bars. I use the factory roof rack with the grey foam blocks. Plus I would mount it from the rear... So to speak. I had it to a science, but it sucked after a long day of fishing.

I carry mine the same way.  74 pounds would be way too heavy for me.  That's why I got the Eddyline Caribbean 12.  45 lbs.  I had the factory install scotty mount bases for me at the factory.  They were real nice about it.  So If I'm going out in some big water I can deploy the stabilizers and i'm essentially fishng from a jon boat

I just got this in the mail yesterday............Ain't she purty?

This counts as a problem with spending money to fish for me. I have never bought more than a jon boat.  Anyway yesterday I picked it up. Still needs some cleaning I just hosed it off on my way home yesterday. Its 18ft 2000 model with a 115 Johnson so nothing to fancy.

That's right, I forgot that you are the perfectionist. Nice DIY hand paddle, and it can also second as a pizza peel:lol:

It's true.  I have a tendency to obsess.

Also the paddle is already on CL to be rented out for freshman frat initiation weekend. ;)

Quick trip to DSG last night to grab some braid that i actually "needed"  .... this one color of senkos were on sale for like $4.50, grabbed both bags they had, then needed the owner wacky hooks to go with them, then saw the crazy flappers.....  it's a downward spiral!

This couldn't be more true. On a few occasions though I have left all of my money in the car except for a $10 bill if I'm just going in to buy a pack of hooks. (I still end up going down every aisle and scope out what I'll buy next time)
