Super User Shane J Posted March 1, 2016 Super User Posted March 1, 2016 Just completed the swimbait lineup, with a little help from my friends here at BR. A trade here. A couple nice flea market moves, and the under 4oz bait category is covered. 7'11" Okuma Guide Select, paired with a Shimano Calcutta 201B. They make a lovely couple, don't they? In a couple weeks, my dream rod from DVT will be done, and my 301 will have a home. MAN,  it's gonna be a cool year! 6 Quote
Super User Shane J Posted March 1, 2016 Super User Posted March 1, 2016 Also been adding to the crank and topwater game. I gotta say, I like the looks of these new Koppers squarebills.  And some Shellcrackers (Thanks, D!)  And some more mid-weight stuff for the new combo  A couple heavier entrants into my arsenal. Still looking for a Roman Negotiator or Trick, 8" Lunker punker, and a Bullshooter 160 or 190, but I still got ice, so I still got time.    7 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted March 1, 2016 Super User Posted March 1, 2016 Went out and bought 3 Shadow Rap Shads today. They look nice. Hopefully they catch fish. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted March 1, 2016 Super User Posted March 1, 2016 Man I would love to try one of those huge rainbow swimbaits in the local ponds after they stock it with trout, but I do not want to pay what those lures and the rigs that throw them cost! Maybe I can buy a frozen trout at a fish market and add some hooks? 2 Quote

That might work but there are a few things to consider legally before you do.  Any fishing in MD public trout waters requires a trout stamp ~ even if you're bass fishing. Also, when bringing in a commercially purchased dead trout to use as bait, if it's under the states legal size limit, you may have a difficult time proving to a DNR official that it was not caught there. btw - for $25 a Huddleston 68 is a great mid size trout bait that catches big bass. Super User Master Bait'r Posted March 1, 2016 Author Super User Posted March 1, 2016 Gah!  He got me again with that 40% off!!  I don't feel bad though- anytime you can pick up 110 jrs in  those sexy limited hakusei glitter patterns for ~$12 you just do it and don't ask questions haha...  And of course you HAVE TO buy a couple to capitalize on the cheap shipping  1 Quote

A-Jay  Hah, well clearly I would keep my receipt to show the officer. I have been, with some success, fishing the 4.8" Fat Impacts in the stocked ponds. One of those on an 1/8oz underspin is about as heavy as my current rod arsenal will let me go, unless I brought my surfcasting rig into play. Seriously though, that Huddleston is more reasonable in both weight and price then I expected. However, I am still inexperienced enough that my lures still end up in trees often enough that I would be afraid to toss something even at that price. But maybe next year I will up for something like that. 2 Quote

I got 3 trick darters, 3 vision 110s and a pop max and I think after shipping it was like $75  And cant this sale just end yet!?!? Gah I keep going back and looking at them! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 1, 2016 Super User Posted March 1, 2016 Well, on the other hand, we all own a whole lot of stuff that hasn't worked out so well. I don't understand why EVERY fisherman would not own ALL of the lures that are claimed to have won a Classic. How much can they suck? Â Quote
