Just got mine yesterday, and I second both statements.

I can't get this monkey off my back.  Just came in from Japan and it only took 4 days.56ac4f0add23c_IMG_14312.thumb.JPG.f87139IMG_1433.thumb.JPG.d5cbfd955919dee847a13

I bought all sorts of random stuff.  Part of me wants to sell/give it all away and start over now that I have a better idea of what I want/need.

If you don't do this every year you're dead inside.  When I'm done dialing my gear, you'll know I'm gone.

X2. Ordered one from TW back in November. Came in yesterday. Thinking of ordering the bigger one in my next order.

Over the past couple weeks its been too cold to fish so I decided to organize tackle box and see what I had and what I needed. Since I only started bass fishing last Sept. my focus organizing was to fill in holes in the tackle area and replace lost lures. After going thru my small amount of tackle I added the following recently to cover all the conditions/situations I fish?

Dobyns 684CB paired with Lew’s Team Lews Lite Speed Spool TLL1SH Baitcaster 7.5:1

JB Custom 7’ Frog N Rat paired with Lew’s Team Lews Lite Speed Spool TLL1SH Baitcaster 7.5:

Megabass      Pop Max        GG. Bass

Megabass      Pop Max        Gill

Baby 1-Minus        Elite Baby Bass

Baby 1-Minus        Elite Baby Foil FLK Shad

Livingston              Pro Wake        Chartreuse Sunrise Shad

Livingston              Pro Wake        Gold Digger
Livingston              Primetyme CB 2.0   Chartreuse Sunrise Shad
Livingston             Primetyme CB 2.0   Spring Craw
Gary Yamamoto    Chikar Crankbait Floating      Goldfish
Jigs - various both *** and Dave's
Duo Realis Spinbait 80
Tightlines                          UV-Beaver      Green Red Flk 4"
Sweet Beaver             4.20 Green Pumpkin
Powerbait                    2”, 5cm PowerGrub     Pumpkinseed
Replaced a couple spinners and buzz bait, and some senkos.
And I also finally bought a digital scale:)

Pretty minor compared to a lot of folks here but I am trying to keep bait monkey from moving into spare bedroom and only have stuff I know I will use.  I am OK in most areas but I have gone way overboard with Jerkbaits.

Kind of a gimmick lure I know, but I've been absolutely obsessed with tracking down a 10FTU Babu Type 1 for months. It has been impossible to buy so I settled on the Jackall Dunkle. The rubber seems fairly durable, but I'm not too optimistic about it lasting more than a few fish. There's regular tackle purchases and there's the bait monkey on your back. This was the bait monkey calling and he still kind of is until 10FTU can manufacture some more baits.

Super lowballed a seller on an auction site expecting some back-and-forth and to my surprise he just accepted with no counteroffer.

So I guess $20 slide swimmers really do exist.

In the last month I have spent a heck a lot of money and burned through who knows how many packs of swing impacts and swing impact fats. Worth it? You bet.

Just put in a club order for Dobyns... $900 of Furys and 2 Champions. Only $160 of it was mine, but I feel like I spent all my money. Ouch.

Gentlemen, the monkey has escaped.  And he destroyed my "den" pretty badly:

But today I bought the means to contain him:

I hereby swear that I will not buy a single bit of tackle until I get that mess onto those boxes.

I beat that bait monkey around the block again today! Scored a really nice deal at a local pawn shop...

Shimano TMS-X70MH (Teramar Inshore rod)
St.Croix PS66MHF (premier rod)
Shimano Stradic 2500FH
Shimano Stradic 4000FH

I got all of the above for $50.00 out the door!

And when I get done selling some of the gear I don't want, it will actually look like the pawn shop paid me to walk out the door with this stuff!

But I thought $50 for all of it was a good deal. I looked up the shimano rod and there is one on ebay right now for $120 and the St. Croix rod is listed for $80, the stradics are a couple hundred for both. Not too bad of a deal-day randomly stopping at pawn shops as I drove errands.

I got a kick out of one pawn shop that had one Berkley lightning rod marked incorrectly as a Bill Dance signature rod for $59.99 while I just got the good stuff for much less.

Rebuilding the arsenal after years of absence from the lake…

Ordered today:

Shimano Stradic FK (ST2500HGFK)

Shimano Curado I (CU201I)

G Loomis E6X 783C MBR

Now I need to start rebuilding the tackle box.  I wish someone sold large sets of good quality tackle to get the replenishment started.

Went to see if I could find some Rage baits in the clearance bin at my local tackle shop and instead found 4 packs of Yum Wooly Bullies in different colors for swim jig fishing and picked up some 1/16 fireball jigs for Ned rigging. Not much spent, but always a good day when you find a deal on baits that work for ya.

Mind letting me in on where you found these and how much you paid?

I found a place that's pretty cheap, but they don't appear to ship to the states :/

Wow.  It just showed up and it is actually a custom made 145 slide swimmer conversion from a silent killer and not the 115 slide it was listed at.
