Super User buzzed bait Posted August 19, 2015 Super User Posted August 19, 2015 I returned a garbage rod that i bought at Cabela's (broke on first fish and about 90% of reviews said the same). i bought it on a whim because it was on sale and a 2 piece.... shame on me for no research before buying. Anyways, they were most helpful and provided me with a store credit for the rod. Of course I had to spend it right away..... the LCs and the War Eagles were on sale..... i'm a sucker. 4 Quote

Ringonu Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Picked up two Pflueger Trion combos for $25 total from a local auction site. I knew the rods were busted but was happy that the reels were perfect. Now to figure out why I needed them... 1 Quote
atcoha Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 bought a couple dozen swing jigs (swingoilbaits). Nice owner hooks, diff. sizes/colors. For much, much less that trig(hook & tungsten worm weight). I started adding it up, must have $30 worth of weights hung up in the creek this year alone, and $30 worth ain't hard to lose. Figure less than $1.75 for the awesome swing jigs and it don't hurt as bad. Quote
Basseditor Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 4 Kistler rods 3 were Zbones @ 1500.00 Nearly every Paycheck Baits Transporter frogs I could find. They're being discontinued so I bought out supplies from all over. About $400 worth. My photographer friend calls it Gear Acquisition Syndrome or GAS. 1 Quote

Super User bigbill Posted August 22, 2015 Super User Posted August 22, 2015 A better setup for my 5yo grandson. South Bend bait casting rod 5' ultra lite $8, south bend push button reel $5. It's a nice cheap combination. For a kid. I'm sure he will break. I give him a full replacement guarentee With a new flambeau two shelf tackle box full of lures, plastics, bombers. The dirt bike monkey got him two new dirt bike tires too. What a birthday. 2 Quote

Super User Master Bait'r Posted August 23, 2015 Author Super User Posted August 23, 2015 Ms. Shatner is here. Whoa! What kind of swimbait is that?? Love the double top hooks!! Also I picked up an 1st gen MXF *** Black spinning rod for a friend after I saw them on sale for $59. It will be his first nice rod, as he's been fishing with Ugly Sticks for as long as I can remember. He is going to be so stoked!! 2 Quote

Super User bigbill Posted August 24, 2015 Super User Posted August 24, 2015 I'm bait drunk. The bait monkey has my credit card it's all his fault. I just ordered more affordable inline spinners. Mainly in white, black, chartruese. I'm thinking in river fishing they will eat anything. Btw, the 5yo grandson loved his tackle box and lures. 1 Quote
S. Sass Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Where did you order those Jigs from? fishandsave.com Fair warning the C&M ones mainly the 1/2 oz ones the finish wasn't good on the heads. The Brawley brand have been awesome. Still great buys even having to repaint the large C&M jig heads if you want. I have just as good luck with them beat up. Guess the fish aren't worried or don't mind about a lead colored jighead. And if I get hung up I didn't lose $5 haha Quote
NotnatsSamoht Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 My wife asked me if I wanted to go to Gander Mountain, I said yes, she was joking, I wasn't. So I got on *** and ordered some poppers and hooks in been needing, and some sale items I didn't need, bad thing is I placed an order yesterday for some things I needed, and didn't need. Lol always end up with more then I intend on getting. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted August 29, 2015 Super User Posted August 29, 2015 Met the owner of Big Joshy Swimbaits online, and got a package he graciously sent my way today. His company is legendary in Ohio, and I'm willing to bet I'll have some NC bass fooled by his products as well. And yes, that is a craw/swimbait. Coolest thing ever! 5 Quote

I'm from Ohio and those things are very popular. I haven't used them yet but from local fishing forums I'm on they catch nice bass. The slush color is popular for smallmouth fishing the local rivers. Another Ohio lure company to check out is vic coomer lures. Look them up on Facebook they sell from the Facebook page I think. 1 Quote

5fishlimit Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 The bait monkey's hold over me is getting stronger........ A broken rod, tempting bargain bins, and a great deal on Flea Bay led to a tackle binge this last week. Everything is new to me except the reel. Minus the combo, everything was purchased for $40.00, which isn't a half bad deal! Gonna have fun testing them all out this week. *** 1.jpg *** 3.jpg *** 4.jpg *** 5.jpg Rage.jpg Other.jpg Good job on finding the deals! 1 Quote
