And it's bought. New Abu Garcia Nacl with a Volatile rod. A couple new 3600's for my tackle box, and Lure or two.

Now to look for a GoPro...

I looked at the Sony action one, but hero's are a auctioning off around $200 ish new on eBay. So that's what I am going to try for. I put up an ad on the flee market, but I know they are hard to come by on this site.

Tackle warehouse 25 days of Christmas was good to me. Got a bunch of Santone swim Jigs, and then did another order and picked up a bunch of netbait pacas and some new squarebills. Already have another order planned for shadow raps, and skirt materials to tie a custom perch skirt for swim jigs.

Hero 3 had better view angle clarity sand some other better features.

Better view angle clarity? If anything the sony provides clearer footage due to its specialized lens.

The go pro is a hyped up camera because of its publicity.. It's over priced at $200 and the sony as20 has the same feature and more. It has its own stabilization technology which the gopro lacks which provides smoother footage and eliminates shakiness. Sony is also known for its crisp, clean image quality and this camera stands true to that.

If this is your first action cam dont blow $200 on a camera that performs like a $80-$100 camera.

Fishing shows and DSG got me maxed out. Spent around $60 at dicks and got close to $150 in gear. Got 2 megabass ito jerkbaits at a show, 2 custom crankbaits, and some other odds and ends. Spent $20 at another show and got 15 shakey heads, 2 chatterbaits, pack of swing head jigs. Final show I got a couple $4 swim jigs and an ice fishing/UL shimano reel. Looking at building a custom cranking rod on an avid blank for $150.

I have seen if you look at the edges of the screen o of the 170° view the Sony gets blurry, but they perform better on the move as you said.

I'm not 100% sold on a Gopro. If I find a decent priced AS20 I would get it.

Has the AS20 improved the mounting options, and improved the case for better audio?

yes i did thanks, parts of it at least. Most of the clips you may notice are blurry and the quality is different, that was filmed with the original go pro hero, before i used the sony

Thanks for mentioning the Sony. I was looking to buy a can to mount on my yak for this season. $128 and it comes with everything. Does the waterproof case have a 1/4-20 mount on the bottom? Only negative I see is when facing forward you can't see the screen and know if it's aimed properly.

The audio pickup, compared to my gopro hero (1), is significantly better.. i do not know if the new gopro has fixed it audio, i'm sure it has though. The AS20 has similar mounting options to the gopro, I actually made a custom mount based off of this video: He is using the AS15 in the video

I use the 120 degree view, the 170 is just too distorted even in the gopro, which is why i also went with the sony because of its 120 degree angle. The 170 degree view with the sony doesn't support its Steady Shot technology but the 120 does. The 170 is overkill it just looks unreal, its not POV.

No problem. The waterproof case is a 1/4-20 mount. The screen does not present an image of what the camera is seeing, generally by using your own judgment of aiming the camera it should capture what you need with that 120 degree angle. Take a few test shots at home so you can get used to it.

No doubt. I'll figure it out. Probably use a head mount anyhow but my yak already has a RAM mount with 1/4-20 attachment on it. To be clear it's the case pictured that comes with the cam?

if you want to build the mount that the video shows, for a lighter camera w/o case, you need this part: http://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Tripod-camera-Holder-Cellphone/dp/B0042J6VUS/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1423613907&sr=8-8&keywords=cell+phone+tripod

this is the second part to that video, this one shows how to actually build the mount.

I actually already have that tripod. I use it to record videos on my phone. It was a good $4 investment. I recognized it when I scrolled through that first video.
