Super User 00 mod Posted November 16, 2014 Super User Posted November 16, 2014 Not so fast there Kent. The East might be decided when my Hogs come to Missouri. When we win, and we will, the tie between you and Georgia will have the advantage go to Georgia and they very well could be the East Champs this year. Jeff Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 16, 2014 Author Super User Posted November 16, 2014 WOW! Congratulations on the win! I thought Missouri could get by Tennessee and your Razorbacks, but as you said, NOT SO FAST! Beating LSU is monumental. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 23, 2014 Author Super User Posted November 23, 2014 Arkansas crushed Ole Miss and the Tigers had their hands full in Tennessee. Should be a great game next week. It's not often that everyone in Georgia is suddenly a Hogs fan. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted November 23, 2014 Author Super User Posted November 23, 2014 Getting to the SEC Championship Game may be the best the Tigers can hope for, but who knows. A few years ago Eli beat Tom Brady in the most improbable upset in NFL history. There is no reason to believe it can't happen in collegiate sports. Quote

As crazy as it would be, the dominate conference in the country might not have a representative the way the National Championship Playoffs are being structured this year. Quote

As crazy as it would be, the dominate conference in the country might not have a representative the way the National Championship Playoffs are being structured this year. As does the other conferences they do not just get the love fest of the SEC For example the iron bowl. 100 points scored. What did we hear from the media. What a great offensive showdown. If that happens in the big 12 or pac 10 it is what crappy defenses they have. However the coaches know better as auburn fired their dc after allowing 30 points for six games straight. Don't get me wrong the sec west is the best of the best but for the love of God play an oc game outside of the south against a real program at least once every 20 years. Quote
mrmacwvu1 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I agree they need to go to at least 8 teams Quote

Give me a break...as it stands right now, the SEC has a losing record to other P5 teams this season. Does this mean Indiana is the SEC East champ? Quote

Which coincidentally is also the number of wins my team's conference had this weekend against your team's conference. Against zero losses. <insert excuse that the SEC East isn't as good as the west here> http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/77864/fact-acc-delivers-message-to-sec http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11964070/the-sec-no-longer-claim-best-conference-college-football Quote
Super User Catt Posted December 2, 2014 Super User Posted December 2, 2014 4 is what 25% of your conference? I listed 5 years of LSU's OC schedule, please list your team's OC schedule against top 25 teams. Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted December 2, 2014 Super User Posted December 2, 2014 The only possible answer would be to scrap the current system, split the teams into two divisions, and force the supposedly great teams to play only others in their division. Division 1 - Top 32 teams in four groups of 8 teams each. Each team plays the seven other teams in their group and 5 more games against teams in the other groups. Top 2 teams from each group move into the playoffs. And there's no reason to continue holding every major championship game in one select region. After three years, the team with the worst record in each group gets kicked under the bus into the second division, and the best four lower teams move up. No need to bribe coaches or the media to "vote" who is the best, that's the purpose of the won-lost record. No really good team should need to pad their record by playing four or twelve games against the patsies of the NCAA! Quote
