Is There Any Gps Chips For Everglades

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knows of a chip that covers our south Florida waters. Places like holiday park,Stick marsh, alligator alley, holey land etc. I have a lowrance hds elite 5 with a navionics chip in there and have no charts at all. Thanks guys I appreciate the info.

Thanks for replying backlash I just took my bass tracker 17 out for first time ever to holiday park today going back out tomorrow. It only has a 25 merc 4 stroke. It topped out at 20 mph lol it's rated for up to 75hp but that's the engine it brought. Maybe I'll see you out there someday my name is jose thanks again

If your unit has the recording capability, record sonar logs and participate in the Navionics Sonar Charts progam and you will have contour maps of those places.

It takes either the Navionics+ or Navioics Hotmaps Platinum versions to get the Sonar Charts layer.

Go to the Navionics web site and click on the Web App.

Find the "O" rim canal at the South end.

Zoom in to about 500' or closer and click on the circle at the left of the panel to turn it blue--that is the Sonar Charts layer. 

That is what some have done to get contours were there are none.

 

If alligator alley is not shown as a canal but just a line on the map. That can be changed doing the Sonar Charts program. All that is needed is the data to get it done. You and others can collect the data.

 

This is a lake I fish a lot and I have around 75 waypoints on it. It is a new lake that has no maps of any kind available.

This is what Navionics had for it before Sonar Charts.

 

 

After I did some recordings and uploaded them to the Sonar Charts program, this is what is looks like:

 

 

I still do recordings there to improve the overall accuracy. As far as I know, I am the only one doing it for that location since it is an electric-only lake.

Honestly for areas like Holiday you just need some sort of GPS to mark stretches of the canals when you're fishing them. Schools of fish tend to congregate along certain runs of the banks. It's all a matter of finding a stretch of the better fish and sticking with them. There are ledges out there that hold fish, but again as long as you can mark the spot you'll be good to go. I can't think of a single time I've seen people idling around watching their graph.

That's pretty much what I do. Once I find a stretch with a few bites or a nice fish, I mark it. Once you start doing that, you begin to notice certain differences which tend to hold fish. It's not a fool proof system, but it helped me.

Yes, you certainly don't "need" mapping to use the GPS function.

10 to 15 feet in the middle, about 2 feet from the bank it drops to the middle.

 

 

Theres the whole canal system. cast to the bank or flip, if the waters high enough get in the flats.

Thanks again guys I was there today ran around the canals got into flats through site 1 entrance didn't get on the fish though. Only fish of the day was on a Livingston lures red eyed shad. Going back out tomorrow with my wife the best fishing buddy ever lol (she might see this) probably going to either hit holiday park again or holy land.
