Hey all,

Made one final hoorah at my favorite pond today, water temp was 50 F. Sunny and the air temp was 63 F, last warm day of the season.

It was perfect that today was veteran's day- no school, last day of warm weather=last attempt at bass fishing for the season.

Started off throwing jigs, then tried dropshot, and then to soft plastics. As a final resort I tied on a spinnerbait. Then I basically went through the rest of my tackle box trying just for a single bite.

Nothing. Not a fish in sight.

Tried for some panfish and small bass which I usually always manage to get even if the larger bass aren't biting...

Skunked. Not a single fish caught or seen.

Sad way to end the season.. I couldn't even manage a bass in November.. Its a hard feat here in November.

We never really had a fall bite, I mean, when do we actually ever have one here? After summer ends, the fish just slowly slump into winter, with a few bites in between.

Last bass I caught was on October 26th, on a hollow body frog:

Time to go trout fishing!!!! :D

And bird watching

And buying new lures

And watching endless bass videos

And looking at photos of past catches

And buying more lures

And watching more fishing videos

And getting some extra lures for the spring

And... Going bass fishing in Florida in late December  :respect-059:

Tried one last time to get out this past weekend.  Between 4 of us we could only muster 2 dinks running the banks of a reservoir.  Time to pack it in I guess.   :crying-baby-1:

I got out yesterday and made sure I got out one of these last two nice days. I didn't have much luck on the bass front either, the yellow perch is another story :fishing:

I'm right with you NY guys. Got out today for a couple hours to Jacobs Pond in Norwell, MA. Got 1 Perch, 2 decent Crappie, and 2 unknowns that spit me.

Surface temp was high 40s today.

I've seen a lot of guys trout fishing at a couple of my regular spots I know were stocked in October.

I'm going trout fishing as soon as I can. I haven't had something on my line for weeks!!!

Same here. Made one last attempt tonight and while I got one two day ago on a Koppers Live Target, we got skunked tonight. A little chilly too. Time to look forward to next season. :)

I hear you. I picked up my boat from the marina after they winterized it, parked it in the garage for it's winter hibernation, and the drove North to catch some Steelhead. I love winter trout/steelhead fishing. There is just never an "off" time of fishing.

Man.......the bottom just plain fell out mid october around here. Things that have been productive for me FOR YEARS in the fall were just hauling water. Brown fish, green fish, toothy fish............didn't matter, none of them played nice the last 2-3 weeks. Not to mention my last half dozen trips or so where just in miserable cold conditions..........no excuses, but I just really didn't put forth the effort to figure it out either. It seemed like ever since my "man over board" episode on Conesus mid Oct. I was just out there going through the motions.

It has been a very unusual year. I just hope it returns to normal.

Crappy fall bite here in NJ.  We did much better during the summer months.

Caught a few in late October, but nothing in November. Already started taking my reels of of my rods for cleaning and maintenance, and looking for baits to buy for next season.

Hey Welds, if it makes you feel any better I will be fishing the glades tomorrow. High of 80, winds from the NE 5-10. That's what is waiting for you in December. Maybe a tad cooler than 80 though.  :P
