Jacob Krahenbil Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 hey yall just wondering if any of you had gone out lately? I haven't been since before October but I hope to go out soon. I haven't done much winter fishing so any tips would be great thanks! Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 10, 2014 Super User Posted November 10, 2014 Called a friend who fishes the Lake Anna tournaments and left a voice mail for him to call me back. I am sure he can help you with some suggestions after I get in touch with him. Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted November 10, 2014 Super User Posted November 10, 2014 Went out yesterday with Choporoz , other than the engine failure it was a great day to fish , cold to start the day but warmed up nicely for a few hrs. Water temps up in the Anna arm are 55 to 57 , stained , lake is down a foot to a foot and a half , not much info on what the fish are doing , I just got a new sonar ( new to me ) and used it for the first time yesterday , the bite seems to be more concentrated in choke areas on rocks , I missed a few fish yesterday from not being used to the subtle bite , football head jigs worked better for me with rage craws as trailers , up top , the bite is very slow , one fish close to 3 lbs. is all I had for the day , Chop had a better day with 4 fish , one almost five lbs , I feel like we could have had a much more successful day had we been able to reach some of the major creeks in the lower part of the lake , however , I had a great time getting to know Chop and I am truly blessed to have been able to share some time on the water with him , I wish the circumstances would have been different but getting to know someone from here is always a bonus . Good luck and be safe !!! 1 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted November 10, 2014 Super User Posted November 10, 2014 Great day on the water! Thanks, Nitro! Much appreciate sharing your time and your boat. Was only my second time on Anna, but that lake has a ton of appeal. Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 10, 2014 Super User Posted November 10, 2014 So let's not keep Jacob in the dark. What were you throwing and the technique used? I could add what my friend is doing on One Fish Anna but I left my cell phone at my office. I will share with you guys what he tells me. Quote

livetofish28 Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Last time I was out was the day of the Anna Cup on Nov 2nd. A lot of guys caught the cranking up in the north anna arm up by Christopher run and tims Ive concentrated my efforts more down lake fishing deep water with shallow close by. MY Dad was out today in the Veterans day tourney and he lost one on a crank bait the winning weight was 16 pounds i believe so somebody must have been catching them good. Check Va outdoors a guy on the forum posts very detailed reports on the lake. check in there. tight lines Andrew Quote
