Lewi Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 I have the Shimano Caius and am missing one the reel grip caps (I guess I'll call it that) which covers the screw down in the grip. Someone have a line on where i can get one? Thanks Lewi Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted November 8, 2014 Super User Posted November 8, 2014 Call Shimano. They might send you one nc. Quote
John G Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 On the JDM websites, they are called knob caps. Quote
John G Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 On the Shimano Website it says that you need to buy a complete handle assembly and it's discontinued. The Curado 50E knob seals are 99 cents apiece and the part# is 4150. Last time I bought from Shimano, the shipping charge was a flat rate of $6.00. Quote
Lewi Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 Thanks guys and yes, the reel works without it......just wanted to replace it since I notice it! They can keep em for $6 shipping. Quote
TrippyJai Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Call Shimano. Tell them your Caius is missing one of the knob caps and they will probably send it to you for free. Quote
adam32 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Shimanos customer service is not what it used to be, I doubt they will send you one free of charge. I have some of those caps and would be happy to send you one for free. Message me your address and I'll stick one in the mail. 4 Quote
adam32 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 It's in the mail bud. Hope it works for you! 1 Quote

I find their customer service either a hit or miss depending on the rep you get on the phone. I always have to call to place an order because they don't offer shipping to Canada from the website. I noticed that their shipping charge also went from $3 to $6. Quote
John G Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I noticed that their shipping charge also went from $3 to $6.I am not upset about them raising their shipping costs. Every time they send me something, it's in a box and it shipped via UPS. There is no way they can ship from California to Florida for three bucks and I don't expect them to lose money on me. Quote
Lewi Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 It's in the mail bud. Hope it works for you! Thank you! Hope it works too even though its all cosmetic and just driving me nuts! Quote
Solution adam32 Posted November 10, 2014 Solution Posted November 10, 2014 I don't mind shipping charges. I just wish they had the part's I need in stock, especially for reels still in production. Seems like every time I need a part it's out of stock and I have to go searching. Quote
