Hey Keith,

Here is that grip pattern I was telling you about. I saw it in the RM mag and thought it would look good on the build i'm working on..

It has the burnt burl, german brown burl, and natural cork

Now all I have to do is get it reamed without screwing it up to bad, then mount it.

Looks great, the natural cork adds another dimension to the look. I might have to break down and try a couple patterns with it.

Speaking of our conversation the other day... You won't beileve this...  USPS dropped a mystery rod tube off at my office yesterday afternoon. Something that may have been ordered around October???? The absolute killer was that they aren't the ones I ordered. :'( They are ones that I might have ordered in the future but not what I was expecting. I have an email out about them... depending on the response, I may keep one or both of them.

GMAN,

Thanks that setup is going on an 3C70MHF St.Croix blank to be spiral wrapped, and marbled. This owner is a repeat, he has one of my 3S70MF split grip tennessee spinning rods.

flechero,

Awww man that's a bummer..

Told you he has to many irons in the fire...

Here is a closeup of the marbling that was done in the split..

Tried to get a little closer here and slightly rotated..

The marbling is a red with metallic gold streaks, it really pops out in the sun...

David,

Another great looking rod!  I like the grip.  Give the Mrs. a pat on the back, and tell her that I'm always impressed with her marbeling jobs!  You two make a great team!!

L-B-H, riskkid, Thanks guys the client liked it a lot when he saw it turning in the drying box. He is going to pick it up monday, hope the sun is shinning so he gets an eye full of the marbling in the sunlight..

The finished weight of that rod is 4oz.  I really like the way those St.Croix Avid blanks build up.
