Super User aavery2 Posted November 11, 2014 Super User Posted November 11, 2014 20lb braid to a 6 or 8lb FC leader, VMC Spinshot hook, and a 6-8lb tag end is my normal setup, I adjust to the situation after that. Quote

You tie the braid straight to the spinshot hook? So the fluoro tag/leader line is just to break off hangups? Quote
BassThumbAddict Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 10lb Power Pro slick with an 8 lb. flouro leader and a VMC spin shot hook. X2 exactly Quote

No, I did not explain myself properly in the previous post, I tie a 6 or 8lb leader to the main line, then to the hook, and another 6 or 8lb piece for the tag end to the weight. 2 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 11, 2014 Super User Posted November 11, 2014 Ok, I get it - similar to how I do it when I use braid. Thanks! Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted November 11, 2014 Super User Posted November 11, 2014 Most of what I do regarding the drop shot I learned on this site. With that said here is my setup ... very similar to others above Med to Med-Light rod 15 lb Braid 8lb FC leader VMC Spinshot size #1 3/8oz weight to start. Up/Down from there as necessary This covers me for up to 15ish FOW. For the Powershot I do the following 7' MH Baitcaster 50lb Braid 15lb FC Leader VMC Powershot hook 1/2oz weight to start. Up generally from there if needed to 5/8 or 3/4 My favorite worm for both is the Powerworm. 4" for the drop shot, 7"+ for the Powershot. Good luck. I have had great success with this over the year.
