I'm considering this reel line, (2500) any of you guys used the 2014 model? What is your experience?, thoughts on these reels? Looks good on paper, but that doesn't always translate to the end product.

It does look like a very nice reel. I haven't had any experience with it, but the SH series Balistic was bulletproof and built like a tank. If you do end up buying it, let us know how it performs!

I'm also interested. Spent some time drooling over

Daiwa reels the other night...this was one of them.

Looks like a good reel I've heard nothing but great stuff about it. New Procyon looks good too, blue accents would look nice on a dobyns champ!;D

I was going to come back and mention the Procyon 2014

after seeing it is now available at TW. It wasn't a couple

days ago.

Very nice reels.

The new legalis looks like a very nice reel as well. Aluminum frame digi gear and air rotor for $60 sign me up.

Yea, I'm really fond of the direct drive though.. I really am surprised that Daiwa & Shimano have not made this feature avail on all of the reels yet..

I mean the presidents at $60 has it, the Ex looks like a good alternative to the Ci4+ @ less money too.. Plus not so sure about the whole nano magnetic oil concept, I don't hear much on it either.

I have the Ballistic 2500 EX. I have had it out a few times. Very smooth reel. spooled with 6/20 fireline on a 782 Loomis SJR

Selling point for me was the direct drive handle. I have a few Fuego 2500A and it fells very close in comparison.

I bought the 2000 model about a month back at the local shop for $130. It was too nice of a reel to pass up for the price. I haven't used it much, but so far I really like it. I plan on using it a bunch in the spring for crappies.

Wow! $130, that's a serious great deal!
