Favorite fishing situation for me is each and every time I hit the water. I just love being out there regardless of how I'm fishing.

Favourite bass related fishing situation is when they you say that blow-up on a frog, then setting as hard as you can and feeling the fish on the other end. Nothing quite like that.

Springtime, Northern Wisconsin, water temp 50 degrees plus. For the next two or three weeks, the smallies will be in prespawn feeding mode. That's my favorite fishing situation. I take a 2 week vacation and fish 10 to 12 hours a day getting hundreds and hundreds of bass. It's got me spoiled so I don't get as excited about fishing the rest of the year because nothing else I can do will compare.

The visual display of a larger LMB blowing up on top water is IMO as good as it gets, I fish for them this way almost daily, it is fun.  I'd rather catch 1 good one this way than 20 others using different techniques and lures.

I have not had the pleasure of catching giant trevally and don't really want to at my age, but I've caught thousands of other fish in the jack family like aj, crevalles, permit, etc.  For power, brute strength and the fight I've yet to catch anything rivaling them, but there is no visual.

For the fight and the visual offshore billfish and inshore tarpon are unforgettable experiences.

Nothing beats that thump on a jig and going toe to toe with a big bass on a heavy setup in heavy cover.

My favorite fishing situation would be frog and swim bait fishing in the morning and late evening in the Everglades and Okeechobee over massive weedy flats. When its on, it can be magical.

THIS!!

Absolutely!

You know, when I started this thread, I thought it was a lame idea, but I was bored and did it anyway.  Well, I am glad I did, because I really enjoyed reading the different fishing situations you guys really like.  Some are so descriptive, I can almost visualize myself in that moment.  Pretty cool stuff.

When the big girls are revealing themselves and following your baits, and actually committing to the darn things!

I have the lake all to myself.  Just enough breeze to put a ripple on the water, but not enough where I need to use the anchor.  Fishing a deep creek bed with a lot of timber around using a jig or frog.

I like it when the water is warm and muddy in color, the sun is out and it is a beautiful day. Fishing from shore I pitch bulky jigs within 10-15 of shore and work it back, the big fish like to come up shallow during those times and it is so much fun.

A warm day in Late spring in Va.  Wading waste deep in a nicely flowing smallmouth creek, miles away from everyone but you and the buddy who happens to be lucky enough to be there with you.  You hear no boats, you hear no cars, all you do hear is the sound of the water cascading over the rocks and filling into that big pool.  You've got your silver and black J-7 Rapala on, and make the perfect cast just near that overhanging root.  You hear, "Nice cast" from the guy standing about 15 feet behind you.  You twitch it once like its a topwater bait, and that's all it takes to send that 20" class bronzeback into primeval mode as it smashes your Rapala.  You crank once, feel the fish and set the hook with a serious aggression.  "Fish On!"

That --- that is my favorite fishing situation.

Mine would have to be early spring when the Bass start to move up into the staging areas, it is hard to beat a crawfish colored crank bait that time of the year. It is one of my newest techniques learned and getting me back into power fishing after primarily fishing soft plastics for the past two years.
