BooyahMan Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Call me stupid but I've had a recent obsession with top water frogs and went on a buying spree when there was a sale. I figured I would just get a bunch as they are not easy to come by in my area, but now I am wondering how long my "spares" will last? Does the rubber eventually get hard or start to deteriorate? I hate to think that I'm just buying frogs that won't be useful to me in the future because they've become unusable. Thanks! Quote
kikstand454 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Keep them inside in the AC and they will last a long long time. Think about how long some baits sit on a shelf at big box stores warehouse, then back rooms, then shelves. You'll be fine. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 4, 2014 Super User Posted November 4, 2014 I actually like an older frog. I put them on the dash of my truck. Seems to soften the plastic body a bit. Or, maybe I'm crazy, and just like frogs on my dash. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted November 4, 2014 Super User Posted November 4, 2014 As long as the frog is contained well and out of the elements it should do just fine. If you ask me how many fish a frog can handle before you have to retire it I will tell you its around 40-60 quality bass. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 4, 2014 Super User Posted November 4, 2014 40-60 quality bass. Or one pickerel, lol. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted November 4, 2014 Super User Posted November 4, 2014 Or one pickerel, lol. That's true. In our case down here in South Fl, one big gar, mudfish (bowfin), or Snakehead and the frog is a goner. LOL!! Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted November 4, 2014 Super User Posted November 4, 2014 Or one pickerel, lol. or a turtle. Ripped the skirt out of the only frog I had of that color and that was the end of that days fishing.....stupid turtles. Quote
