Siebert Outdoors Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Awsome paint jobs. Those are great looking baits Quote
wickyman Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Those are awesome! I like the panfish/brownish bass! I can't wait to airbrush mine now... Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted April 19, 2007 Super User Posted April 19, 2007 Selling any of those? Wayne Quote
dampeoples Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 Thanks! I love painting Nah, not selling the plastic baits, they are cheap Lucky Craft knockoffs I got from Jann's, and they don't have the performance. But at $1.75 per blank, and they sell finished lures for $3 or so, you can't expect them to! I'm not willing to put my name on something like that, basically The bodies are great for practicing patterns on, that's for sure. I am working on some plugs, making them from scratch here at the house, I'll post some of those when I get a bit (ok, a LOT) closer! Thanks again for the compliments, and for looking Quote
harshman Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Great Paint job, what are you sealing your paint with??? Harshman Quote
Super User Munkin Posted April 20, 2007 Super User Posted April 20, 2007 I really like those bluegill ones on top. Now you have to post some of your spinnerbaits. Allen Quote
dampeoples Posted April 20, 2007 Author Posted April 20, 2007 OK Here are a few spinnerbaits! Bass Shad Chart Another Bass And Bluegill These are fun to do! Quote
Super User Munkin Posted April 20, 2007 Super User Posted April 20, 2007 Here is my "pumkinseed bluegill" I have several different head colors but I am still working on the skirt color. Those baits on top look real familiar? Allen Quote
stroz Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Those all look sweet.I really dig that perch. You do great work... Stroz Quote
woodpro1102 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Awesome job. I know you said you werent selling them but if you ever change your mind I wouldnt mind buying one. I want to start a collection of custom baits. They will most likely be to look at only in a nice display or something. Keep up the great work. Alex Quote
wickyman Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 d**n bro, you are really talented! I like those spinners! They almost look like mini bass! I also second the buying of those for a collection. I don't care about the quality, I just collect! Quote
BIG M Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 I can say one thing for sure, that's not your first time with an airbrush. That is some serious painting (from someone that knows) If you ever want to shoot some balsa bodies worth putting your name on let me know. Quote
wickyman Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 You guys are great! I need to get the old airbrush back out, and shoot my top waters... I need a good crankbait blank! One day I will find a quality one! Quote
Hawgin Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Those bluegill that you painted are amazing looking. If you ever wanted to sell those, or it you wanted to paint up some more in that pattern and sell them I would definitely be interested in them. Quote
woodpro1102 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Looks like you have a chance to make back a little of the money you spend on blanks and paint. I am very impressed with these and cant wait to see more from you. Alex Quote
WhiteMike1018 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Wow I really like the looks of all of those...that is excellent work! Good Job! Them Spinnerbaits look absolutely ridiculous man...did you glue them eyes on there also? And is that a custom skirt or one that comes with the assortment? Quote
dampeoples Posted April 20, 2007 Author Posted April 20, 2007 Thanks guys! I'm flattered Allen - I like that pumpkinseed, but more than that, I like that jig with the hair, that's something I've never learned to do! I do sell stuff, just not the plugs! I'd love to move into more painting though. Speaking of collection, that's kind of what I'm trying to do, make a 'set' of colors/patterns like perch, bass, crappie, bluegill, shad, striper, etc, etc. Kind of a challenge to me, I figure if I can paint 'real' fish, I can paint any patterns out there that's catching them Quote
JFisher Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Dude man, Sent you a message with a cash offer to buy your cranked up baits. Do me a solid brother Quote
thomas Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Here are some baits I've painted recently, still working on making my own, so i'm using the plastic bodies as practice pieces dam peoples, beautiful work. I have no doubt when you start making your own, that the quality will match your painting skills. thomas Quote
dampeoples Posted April 22, 2007 Author Posted April 22, 2007 Thanks again! This is really fun stuff Gonna hopefully work on a Striper and Crappie pattern soon, but with the weather taking more of a turn to nice, I dunno Oh, and not for sale is not for sale! I don't have most of them now anyway, most I give to my club members, others I trade away. I keep a few to fish with, I tied that flat perch on today, and the meanest 4" bluegill in Roanoke Rapids Lake ate it Quote
JFisher Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Senor Peooooples - set me up and smoke the worm!
