Well all my baitcasters are spooled with either 15, 20, or 30lb power pro or 832.  From there it's a matter of what I'm fishing, then adjusting and either putting a topshot of mono (10-14lb) or FC (10 or 12). The med action rods I fish I throw cranks, topwaters, blade, buzz, and spinnerbaits.

8# mono is my standard in several different brands at the moment.   10# mono on one.  Currently no braid on Medium casting rods.

20lb Power Pro braid, with a 10,12, or 15lb fluoro leader as needed.

12# FC on one, 55# braid with 10# mono leader on another. Of course, since almost every company understates the braking strength, the 10# mono is thicker than the 12# FC lol.

I use 10lb mono, 10lb Fluro, and 30lb braid on my assorted medium baitcasters.

We don't have BIG Bass here in 'the city'. Unless you're talking Stripers - a different forum...

I use 20# yellow Power Pro on my bait casting setups

and always tie on a leader. Braid keeps line management

issues at bay, the leader keeps me from cutting large

amounts of the braid every time I retie a hook.

Also use M Fast and M X-fast rods for soft plastics.

Actually, my main rig right now for soft plastics (casting)

is a ML Carbonlite 6'6" paired with a Chronarch 50e.

40# 832 w/ a 12# trilene big game leader and a snap. I use it for walking baits, open water frogging, rat-l-traps, and square bills. I can also ditch the snap and use it for light cover jigging with 3/8oz jigs. This setup does a lot!
