I just found this bait from Imaktsu http://www.imakatsu.co.jp/products/lure/pro_a063.html  Called the hairy chunk.  Its basically a crawfish with pork hair imbedded in it.  I looked up how they actually made it and it's intriguing to say the least.  Love the colors of this bait too.  I looked at some of the other soft plastics by this company and I was pretty impressed.  definitley something to look into.  I know tackle wharehouse carries their dread hog bait but thats it.  Im sure i'd have to go to ebay to find what i was looking for for this company.  on another note, i like to use ebay to find rare or specific colors for megabass, jackall, and other japanese companies that most US sites don't carry.  i've got a pop-x in a rare matte color that just kills it for me.

Reminds me of a lady I met in Sicily years ago!

Yes they do and all the JDM things are so much nicer. They are serious business about bass fishing and have a wealth of knowledge I wish i could understand that you just don't really get from the US. As for the e-bay that's a negative but you can go that route if you like.

If you didn't know or are looking for the JDM stuff. There is even better places then that but there a secret :)

Ebay is the place to go, if you dont get what you paid for you get refunded..I have bought thousands of lures and reels and never lost one penny of my money and always below retail.

A buddy of mine pours his own baits, and makes something similar.  I'm not totally convinced the hair generates a bite, but it does hold a scent like Megastrike very well.

I have never bout of ichiban but it is a good place to quickly and easily see what companies have. It would have to be a decent size order or they would have to have something I really want and can't fine cheaper on other sites but that's doubtful if I made a order on there. Ebay doesn't always have everything when it comes to a JDM item and its usually at markup. You can find everything at a better price most likely if you know where to look. Not everyone sees the same internet  :shhhhh:

I wonder if they'll come out with a Kathy Bates Pro model

For real though, I really do want some of those bearded charmers... They look creepy as hell, what bass would let that creeper bum craw lurk around their pond?? None!

I am done buying expensive exotic Japanese baits after spending $18 for the Megabass "Para bug" which ended up being much smaller than I anticipated and the 3 baits lasted about 10 minutes.

I hope another  company makes a similar version of the Para bug with a heavier floating Hard body instead of PVC because it looked great in the water but was also very light and designed to be thrown on light line.....

Wouldn't the scent kill the action (of the hair)? Never tried that, and curious.

Not really. I use it on hair jigs, doesn't seem to matter. You don't slather it on.

Try the scent on your hair jig in cold water in your sink, if it looks grease ball don't use it! Hair should breath and move with very little movement in cold water.

I learned that after years of tying hair jigs, I never used scent until one summer day when I had a day that scent seemed to really work. After that I put scent on my winter hair jigs and I wasn't getting bit but my buddy was, that was when I found that the scent was making the hair kind of matte and stick together. So now I tie a small chenille ball on the hook shank of my hair jigs as a scent sponge, that way I can apply scent and still have the hair move.

Don't want to hijack this thread, good looking trailers and good links to tackle sites.

A 3/4" long scented finesse worm section works on hair jig hook shank when nose hooking pork rind trailers.

This flares out the hair skirt and adds scent, plus help the trailer from fouling the hook point.

If it looks greasy, you're using way too much.
